  • So what next?

I just got my second TS to 300,

First was banking, which was expected since it's a good idea to be able to make Misty picnics.

Next was tailoring, mainly so I can make the extraplanar trade satchels (own use, sale, or for guildies)

But what next? I'm a rogue and poison making is in the 250's - that's hard to sit down and do a skillup marathon especially if I can't make 10-dose poisons (trying to fix that, though).

I've thought about pottery but I don't have any serious need that I can see since advanced poison vials are trivial now.

Smithing might be nice but also expensive - but might make some money later. Brewing could be fun but I don't see any huge market for anything beyond 200 (some items are worth making to resell, though), jewelcraft, again, expensive and w/o a high level enchanter making anything worth selling would be too expensive. Fletching is a possibility.

The toon is only 60 so I am planning to spend some time working on him and putting AAs towards non-TS but I should be able to bang out the 3 needed AAs in a day now (soloing, a lot faster if I get in a good LDoN group).

If you want to beat your head against a wall, then yes, do fletching next Unless you're a wood elf or what...karana worshiping half elf? It's long, arduous and expensive. I'm not sure most of us who are tradeskill junkies really said "hmmm where's the market", at least I didn't, when deciding what to skill up or skill up next. I did manage to make a little plat back in the day with tinkering, but nothing else has ever proved to be nearly as profitable. I do better buying low and selling high or vendor diving on behalf of barters than I really do with anything else these days. If you're really looking for a "market" then it almost seems like smithing would be next - making weapons, armor augs and cultural armor for people. Jewelcraft allows you to make the augs that go in the weapons, pottery is part of making weapons....brewing - your assessment is correct, there's no real market there, it's just for the accomplishment and big bag and it's fairly easy to do. I barely exceed breakeven on high level alchemy on Povar and tinkering those **** amalgamators isn't even worth the price they're selling for these days. Baking is just too easy to skill up yourself, though I make lots of Broiled Raxil fish for guildies, I only offer a portion of that up for sale in the bazaar, just not really worth my time. MTPs are dead unless maybe you're on the progression server. Way too many subcombines for something with stats that just can't compare to UF/HoT/VoA food that's craftable with much less effort.

I'd recommend doing Jewelcraft - you can pick up most of the necessary components right off of vendors and then for higher levels, just do uncut gems that you can pick up off of Traders for really cheap (1pp each, lots of times). I think I mastered Jewelcraft (including trophy) in about a week of casual playing.

Brewing took a little effort; I posted an Alt in Kaladim's mushroom garden for about a month packing up my 10 slot toolboxes (largest containers at the time) to max to 300 and max trophy.

All in all, I think it's a bit of fun and accomplishment each time you max then trophy a skill. Best of luck!

I noticed one thing I forgot to do - I never did my tailoring trophy and started the baking trophy too late.

Before I start these runs I guess I'll get the trophies (or do they evolve though quests?)

You should always get the trophy quest as early as possible because they're a lot easier (fewer rare ingredients). The trophies will evolve with you as you skill up as long as you have it equipped while you're doing combines. You can still get trophy quests even if your skill is maxed, but they're a pain

You have heard much wisdom here.

The thing that I want to emphasize is the the jewelery crafted with Extruded Underfoot Diamonds - the highest gem that can be used by lower characters - and even the previous high gem, Taaffeite, is truly remarkable. I do not know that you can sell this jewelery in bazaar but for yourself and guild members - just amazing. I have made many players smile with this crafting.

I hear you say that there is no enchanter in your alt family. But I would hope that you will find a kind enchanter for the important metal bars.
