I have heard random rumors that they may be doing a ui overhaul for the next expansion. Since I don't know if that is true or not, or to what extent that overhaul will reach, I had a request to modify the tradeskill combine window.
I recently finished up tailoring. I had been sitting at about 250ish for a while. I had already learned all of the 'silk' and 'pelt' templates up to Exuisite. I go grab my trophy and equip it, grab my stack of accumulated supplies, and prepare to go to town. When I bring up my favoriite recipes, I notice that the recipe for the 'Fine' versions of silks and pelts was green. I was bummed because I had a decent sized stack of those. So, I move up to the next level and begin working on carpal tunnel.. I mean tailoring. After many skillups, all of a sudden it hits me, I unequip my trophy and see my skill is now 274... the trivial on Fine silks and pelts is 274.
Now I am really bummed because I wasted a fair amount of money using the higher level combine because I was 'tricked' by the Ui to think Fine was trivial. Yes, I should have been more careful, but I had some suggestions that might prevent that oversight in the future.
1. The coloring of the trivial levels in the recipe list, especially my favorites list, is based on your current modified skill. Personally, I feel the coloring aids in progressing, and not deciding if I can make something or not. Maybe you could change the coloring to follow the base skill rather than the modified skill.
2. Put the base skill on the UI along with the modified skill. This would make it easier to cross check the colors to the potential skillup.
3. Add another column to the results list that colors according to base skill, and have the second column remain like it is now (based on modified skill)
Any one of those, or even a combination, would be helpful in my opinion.
Thanks for reading.
