  • Changing Race?

I am a Half Elf Ranger. I am maxed on his Tradeskills.

I have a Human Monk Alt.

I was wondering if I changed races (to human) using the Marketplace potion, would I be able to make the extravegant armor for my monk then?

What are the "side effects" of a race change? Someone told me i would retain my skills but lose all quests etc? anything else i should consider before doing so? Any dangers?

Thankyou in advance for any advice.

Any cultural on the ranger would be no good anymore.

The armor patterns/molds would be a simple task, but you would need for humans.

You would need to redo any symbol tasks as I believe the racial specific books for those would not convert for you.

Otherwise, yes, you would be able to make the armor.

The only other side effects that I know of are the potential deity conflicts you might have as well. But the potion allows you to change your deity, I believe.

      Symbol patterns aren't race specific.

Armor molds/patterns are, but I wonder about the pattern storage NPCs at the library. Would you lose what you had stored by changing race? Do they care what race you are? Your Half Elf might be able to store molds that your Human could then withdraw as Human molds.

Still, sounds like a lot of work. Find someone to make them for you if you find the materials. I can do so on Antonious Bayle. Look for Trellos or Shadrok.

But the symbol pattern books are. And I do not know if a Wood Elf can make the combine for the symbol patterns using a Human Illustrious Symbol book.

Since the combine is done in a book binding, I do not think there would be a conflict, but that does not mean there won't be one.

Anyone can make any symbol regardless of race or religion.

I did this on my halfling druid and flipped her to Drakkin (it made sense at the time). Her deity changed along with the race change so she could no longer equip her cultural gear at all. GM tailor so I just remade everything and sold the rest.

If you are smart to choose a race that you can maintain the same deity, then you only have half the battle to fight. I did this at level 80 so collecting parts again was not so fun.

You do lose all quests. I finished out some intense ones I had started and deleted some others.

I am considering going to wood elf.../sigh.

Did you make the symbols yourself again?

Did you use the same symbol book you had already earned to make symbol patterns to make the symbols or had you already made the patterns?
