Vah Shir Cultural Armor Question

Hi Folks,

I'm returning to EQ after missing the Underfoot expansion. I'm max tradeskills and had completed all the cultural tradeskill quests and have made a bunch of tradeskill cultural armor for myself and others in the past.

Things have changed.

I'm able to scribe every book from the dudes in the PoK (cost me a fortune in plat). Where I'm stuck is in getting the patterns and molds. I have every book except the Ancestral Vah Shir Armor book. For example I have the Sublime Book of Vah Shir Culture and about 5 others.

I seem to remember these books falling apart after so many uses. Is it possible that my Ancestral Vah Shir Armor book fell apart or something? Do I have to go back and do the first quest again (with the darned glowing muck digger heart)?

I still have hundreds of Patterns for Vah Shir Tunics - the tailoring stuff but nothing left for the smithing. I need to try to make some smithing molds. Are those old patterns any good anymore?

Thank you in advance for any help. I'm trying to search the boards but I'm at a point where I don't know which quest is worse...reading the boards or just going to get a muck digger heart!

Yes the book wears out after 10 sets of cultural patterns/molds.

Yes it is the same quest with that stupid heart.

Yes you will have to repeat it if you do not have any books/molds left.

Yes those patterns are still good for crafting the leather armor for vah shir.

The cultural patterns do not change. What changes are what drops are required for the ore and loam as well as the racial ore (Indurate Ancestral Ore)
