Yep, after 8 months of affliction haste/efficiency working one way, 8 months of people trading for items, 8 months of people using raid points to aquire items, 8 months of... oh you get the idea. And NOW they friggin change it, without even a whiff in the patch message? Oh, btw shamans, heres a crappy trophy and some crappy potions, enjoy!

Feedback this crap, because dots are the suck in pop, at least for shaman. A wizard can nuke for 3k, but the moment I slap out a 1200 dot... "You will not evade me Flabbo!" Yeah, I reckon I wont, especially now that my only useful spells are 25% slower, shorter, and more costly.

      Bleh

I'd like to encourage everyone to /feedback this one too... and point out that it doesn't just suck for Shamans (Though it does suck mightily for them, they are not alone! - it's also hell on your friendly neighborhood enchanter. I realize there is a lot of (possibly justified, possibly not) bitterness in some communities due to the perceived overpoweredness of Charm... but enchanter's all over the place have been questing, trading, paying and crafting to get affliction items, because Affliction items affected Charms, Mezzes, Slows, and Roots - which is to say, almost everything an enchanter does. Our slow is longer to cast than Shamans, so we got ever better bang for our buck out of Affliction Haste, and Affliction Efficiency helped us all deal with the exorbitant mana costs of higher level mezzes (It costs us almost three times as much to mez a level 64 mob as it costs us to mez a level 57 mob for the same amount of time.)

This is stuff that helps us save our group. It's also just about the only useful focus effect we have outside of the generic "Mana Preservation" and "Spell Haste" Foci - just about every other class (With the exception of our brothers and sisters in woe this patch, the Shaman) has their primary spell type affected by some non-generic focus.

Obviously this wasn't trivializing any content, or someone at Verant would've noticed it in less than -eight- -months- so why fix this "bug"? What does it do but frustrate players?

      Thank you for your support.

Basically people are complaining they want the bug not fixed.
Verant said they would not undo the fix.
They said the bug was fixed, crept in again, then they fixed it.
They then say they will look at other spells on a case-by-case basis.

You had fun during the time they didn't fix the bug.

Get used to the way it should have been now.

You bet I will...as soon as I get my 15k back for the Ceramic Skull I bought last week. Wanna buy it?

FYI I'm an enchanter who's cast time on charm just went from 2.7 to 4 seconds. You can bet that Shamen aren't the only ones pissed.

The issue is not whether or not the effect should be in game the way it is, don't waste time arguing that. The issue is the truckloads of plat, time, and raid points wasted because 8 months of not fixing it (as well as chats with dev members) led us to believe it was gonna stay as is. Imagine the necros who lost out on uber no drop affliction items that went to enchanters because at the time they would find them more useful...now all rotting in the bank.

            Those of you complaining

Should have realized it wasn't working as intended, it started out working that way, they announced that was a bug and fixed it, then it crept back in (bugfixes get undone all the time, not just in EQ). It was that way for 8 months because nobody COMPLAINED it wasn't working as intended, of course not, people rarely complain about things going their way. This was NOT a nerf, it was a bugfix, and those of you complaining about it well know it. Necros, Shamans, Druids, Shadowknights and any other classes with DoTs will still get a benefit out of Affliction Haste and Affliction Efficient and Extended Affliction. The rest of you will just have to find Spell Haste items (for everything else, as you should have done in the first place). You got while the getting was good, now get over it quickly please.
