EQTC Riddle Challange

Hey everyone, this is a little challenge to see how well everyone gets around on the tradeskill circuit. It’s a riddle puzzle like the ones they used to do during anniversary collection events. In here you may work together to try to figure out what food/drink etc each riddle hints at and post your response. There is no real reward for this but I thought it’d be kind of fun to try. Here are the riddles:

Brews:
1 Something with “Hair of Dog”
2 a beer for “The Little Ol’ Lady”
3 Tea that Elves don’t like
4 “Stick a dagger in it an’ it’ll stand straight up”
5 the most illegal beer in Qeynos
6 The most illegal beer in Cabilis
7 Cyclops’ often lose their heads for this one.
8 Don’t drink this Ale, it’ll Melt your Mind.
9 You spike this during Frostfell.
10 Mayong’s favorite drink.
11 Qeynos citizens drink this tea in the Morning
12 I need more time with the “Capt’”
13 Beware his “Kiss of Death”
14 After drinking this you will need WD40
15 Look for the Finest Wine

Very good attempts everyone!! you have 5 of the 8 riddles right so far!
Let me give some hints at the ones that are wrong:
Drink:
8 This drink is "Tainted"
11 VERY close but the key word is "Morning" What tea would Qeynos drink in the morning?
Foods:
13 Nice idea but no. the food it literally both a drink and a meal. Think about Rujark Ldon's.

Also let me give a few further hints to help clarify some of the riddles:
First of all, not all of these are recipies. some are just food/drink that is found in the game.
Drink:
2 Think old nursery rhymes: "The little ol' Lady who lived in a _____" What kind of drink would she want?
4 This is probably my hardes clue because to know it you'd have to spend alot of time in the Fishes's Ale bar in Qeynos. Look for the local drunk in the back rooms.
Food:
9 think sushi only without the fish or rice or vegies.
10 These "cherries" glow in the dark.

Really bored at work today and I stumbled across this. I shamelessly stole the answers from above that I liked, so props to previous answerers.

Brews:
1 Something with “Hair of Dog” --Dire Wolf Pale Ale
2 a beer for “The Little Ol’ Lady” -- Boot Beer
3 Tea that Elves don’t like -- Cinnamon-spiced Elven Tea (The 'Elven' doesn't mean this is tea FOR elves... the cinnamon powder actually has high elf parts in it). I might also argue that like everyone else, elves also hate Tnexus' Terrible Tasting Tea.
4 “Stick a dagger in it an’ it’ll stand straight up” -- No idea. I'll have to make a field trip to check out your hint.
5 the most illegal beer in Qeynos -- Crows Special Brew maybe? That guy seems a little shady if you ask me.
6 The most illegal beer in Cabilis -- Tail Kicker Lager? (lizard tails in it might offend their 'big brotherssss')
7 Cyclops’ often lose their heads for this one. -- Skull Ale
8 Don’t drink this Ale, it’ll Melt your Mind. -- Tainted Avalanche Ale -- the poison Mind Melt is an ingredient.
9 You spike this during Frostfell. -- Egg Nog. Other times of year you have to make do with spiking Freetide Punch.
10 Mayong’s favorite drink. -- Planar Blood Brew? Pod of Blood a close 2nd in hilarity.
11 Qeynos citizens drink this tea in the Morning -- Really stumped on this one. I thought Sunrise Tea was vampire flavored.
12 I need more time with the “Capt’” -- Captain Norgan's Spiced Jum? You may need less time with him, sir, if you're thinking up lists like this one.
13 Beware his “Kiss of Death” -- Not Innoruuk's Kiss of Death? I didn't think you could drink this, although admittedly I never tried, just turned it in for the tonic.
14 After drinking this you will need WD40 -- Maybe Fuzzlecutter's Formula 5000? I admit I had a wild daydream that there was a drink I didn't know about, that had a gnomework illusion on it or something.
15 Look for the Finest Wine - you mean Cristov's Finest Red Wine? It's clearly the best.

1 “Often happens when the little bugger carves his way into your bread” -- A Hobgoblin Surprise perhaps?
2 Also called: “Get that crap away from me” -- Edible Goo (Glad Palo got this one, since there are plenty of recipes that fit this description as far as I'm concerned)
3 Made of Squid -- Calamari
4 A pie that’s poisonous to iksar yet we can still eat it -- Lotus pie perhaps? Only pie I can think of that might contain poisonous bits.
5 Foob’s favorite meal --- A Catfish Croak Sandwich!
6 “only uses the finest paladins, you can tell by the shards of armor still in it” -- Clearly Paladin Pickles! You could make a case for Hero Sandwich too.
7 A salad with no lettuce -- I **THINK** Karana's Heartfruit Salad is the only one without lettuce. I want to say all the various seafood salads have either Lettuce or Vegetables in them.
8 Chips with no dip -- Dried Payala Chips?
9 No taste but will keep you full for days -- Dried Seaweed maybe? Would not have thought of that without the further hint posted.
10 Like cherry pie but they’re not cherries -- They glow eh? Like Beetle Eye Pie?
11 Miranda loves these. -- Chocolate Marr Cherries! I hate cats. I love the quest reference clues though.
12 Wenbie’s addiction. -- Muffins
13 Both a meal and a drink -- Cheesy Potato Soup. I never had a pro forager and always wanted one.
14 A favorite of dryads, known for their earthen taste. -- Maybe Earthworm Munch?
15 The one and only Veal -- Elven Veal - the treatment of those baby High Elves is appalling. Oh wait, you can use any old High Elf Parts. I breathe a sigh of relief while shaking my head at the use of the word, 'veal'.

10 Mayong keeps his private stash of this in his mansion.
11 This was literally the first tea ever discovered
12 though Capt' Norgan was clever with jum, this captain came first. seek out a drunk in freeport who "spends his time with the Capt'"
14 Rogues need a 5 finger discount to get this brew, or a very strong dagger
Baking
1 the mangy "buggers" of this tale oft lose their tails
4 if your a froglok, you'll want one of these pies as it is key to your freedom
7 your on the right track, think of otters
14 i dont think they like the worms in earthworm munch, what they seek grows up in the air but the earthen taste seeps from the ground.

Brew #10: Blood spirits from castle mistmoor. For the Burning Rapier quest.
Brew #14: Clockwork Oil Stout from Sol A. You must pickpocket it for the rogue Burning Rapier quest.

Very good Merlaina! you tracked down 2 of the harder riddles and some of my character's personal favorite drinks.
Brews:
10 is correct!! Blood Spirits are a viscus concoction of almost raw, uncoagulating blood that stays good for centuries on end.
14 is correct!!! The gnomes tinker with everything and a little machine oil in a brew makes for a major kick!!
as for number 1 that is a good guess and might technicaly work but this brew actually has no hair in it. This recipie was ment to cure a hangover.
