Bleh, they really sounds awful. :?

I'd suggest dropping an email to feedback@soe.sony.com or posting on the Developer's Corner or even using the /feedback command in game if you haven't already.

Unfortuantely, I'm not too familiar with how these servers are operated since they are in other countries. Seems if you have problems like this that weren't ever in the game that the server operates under a different staff. It might take a little longer for them to fix the stuff because of this.

Good god how did they accomplish all those new bugs ? That implies they are using various versions, for blue servers....

Btw is all the text in German on that server ?

Yes , the idea was to offer a server completely translated into german... nice idea, but the reality looks like this: they obviously hired people to translate all the text who did not ever play EQ themselves so they e.g. translated "file" into "Akte" which is the word for a file like an .exe file or a sheet of paper in a buro...

And also they tried to translate the quest-texts , but they did not use the same translation for the trigger words as the npcs give you when you talk to them... so the NPC may say "I have some [tasks] for you" but you have to say "what quests" to trigger the quest... this resulted in a lot of work for our GMs because they had to look into the npc texts and tell all the people trying to do that quest what to say instead of the bracketed text.

Next thing is, they never managed to translate the PoP zones... so the first months no PoP zone was working properly, you couldnt loot any corpses there (neither your own nor NPC corpses). Then they decided to load up the US PoP zones so we could at least play there ... means now they are working but everything is in english... but only in PoP zones... and the drops there are allready translated. Not all though, e.g. the parchments are called "Not Used" ("Nicht benutzt")... lol...

They allready fixed A LOT since server up , but they didnt fix much for trade skills... they focused on things like exp-system and so on... allmost everything was bugged in the beginning, and we are just paying exactly the same amount of money every month as every other US player does. We just get a beta EQ...

Also "funny" is that most of the quest-npcs in PoK are bugged since server-up and called "Ssssra Temple Ubor Monster" ... no joke...

well, i could continue to list tons of other "funny" bugs

As a comment I have to say it really sucks!
If they dont fix it in a week thats really bad customer service.

If I were you I'd contact SONY Customer Service directly by phone or by e-mail and tell them what is wrong. Not just stating that this and this is LORE. But saying that the total Tradeskill engine is flawed in the server and needs to be fixed ASAP. If GMs etc wont help take it up to Customer Service. They have more power to do that GMs ever will have.

Unhappy customer = losing $$$ = they will do something quick

Ok translating everything over, thats a massive task. Still, this is a service you are paying for, really a certain level of quality should be there, not what you guys are going through.

A free month of playing would make up for it, not that I have any say in it

We ve written tons of emails and so on but they obviously dont really care.. best example is the thing with the move-log... In the beginning they told everyone this will be a new server and no move-logs will be allowed at all for at least 6 months (to give people a motivation to start at zero on that server). Then the server population was (i think) too low to provide any profit , so they announced 1000 totally free and full equiped moves from any server to those new servers, and that was not even 3 months after server up. They NEVER asked if anyone would disagree with that decision and they NEVER said a word of warning or so. They just threw out that message from one day to another. So everyone that was playing without any twink gear for almost 3 months on that server was really PISSED because now there are tons of lvl 65 100aa chars with ubor equipment and those who started on Kael are now bloody noobs.

The best thing was how they told us about the 1000 moves... they really announced it like a gift:

To celebrate the launch of the 3 european servers we offer blahblahblah...

something like this... you can imagine the reactions on the official boards... people went mad ) we had lots of people playing like made to be the best on this new server and now they are just some little noobs compaired to the move chars.

Well these servers are operated by UBIsoft and not SOE. (Not sure who exactly maintains the code tho).

I think it's the typical example when "the kid is lost between the too many nurses". (Its a hungarian saying, not sure if it's used in other languages).

I mean you can email SOE all you want, they will just tell you to email UBIsoft and UBIsoft doesn't really care what their customers want (see the cancelled european fanfair, see the late european release dates for expansions, see the recent movelogs etc)

yah, u got it, thats exactly the way Ubisoft thinks about customers support... they really suck and the community of Kael Drakkal suffers...

they just dont care... the only thing which you can be sure of is that the money will be billed .. .in many cases they even billed too much or too many accounts .. im glad this did not (yet) happen to me

and about expansions... well since pop isnt working at all in tradeskills at least , i wont buy LoY until its implemented AND working on kael... i realistically estimate this to be in summer 2003 :twisted:

You wanted to hear more funny things of our nice server? here you go:

In Wakening Lands there should be this... thing.. which ports u up to PoG... Brain, Tree, whatever you want to call it ). Well, on Kael, it doesnt exist... its still not there ) If we want to go to PoG we have to /petition and hope that a GM will be on , then you have to talk to him and explain why you want to go to PoG and if you stay polish and are lucky you might get a GM-port up...

Then in bazaar, the merchant who sells the trader satchels... he is called "H�ndlerin Tekrama" on Kael... H�ndlerin is the german word for a FEMALE merchant... and this is definately a male guy

One of my favorits: you all know how to make a pet get lost... thats "/pet get lost" on us servers... on Kael you have to start pet-orders with "/helfer ..." , but where the hell should we know that from? noone told us in the beginning... so till today the GMs very often get petitions with "get lost" in it , because /pet means on Kael /petition ... i dont want to be a GM there, you hear "Get lost!" hundreds of times a day rofl

It would seem that poor CS is the norm in Europe - I had read an article on a German CD company that was having a few issues because thier anti-copy codes were causing thier CDs to not work with many normal CD players - this became news because thier official response was that the CDs work and that the people claiming otherwise were lying and trying to copy them to pirate music. :shock:

Hehe, thats why i didnt even check the Kael server out (i am german too), you simply cannot translate RPG texts from english to german without making it sound hilarious

(most of the time...)

I wouldnt get past lvl 1 on that server, i would die laughing before i killed my first mob... Even logging in and entering "Der groe�ere Feenwald", "Die westlichen Gemeinlande", "Die Metzgerblock Berge" would be too much )

I cant even imagine how they translated the names of Luclin mobs, "Eulenbaer", "Schmutzgr�ber", "Lichtkrabbler" or even "Verbitterling"?!?!

Cigarskunk - change "German" to "US" and you're statement is still 100% accurate. The copy protections are generally based on purposely invalidating the formatting of the CD (differing methods for differing protection mechanisms), which most modern cd players cannot tolerated and the US$12.99+ CD is as good as a coaster to those legitimate owners. Any attempt to make the CD work is a criminal act in the US under the DMCA (it violates the anti-circumvention clause). So you either have to hope the store you bought it from is understanding, or try and buy a low-tech audio cd player (most modern and/or multifunction ones are problematic these discs "which resemble Compact Discs (CD) but technically are not" (www.apple.com)) to use whenever you want to play that CD. It really is a bad situation, but don't lay the blame on Germany - its present in the States, and elsewhere, as well.

Sorry about the derailment, but that's both a issue I'm very annoyed with, and I wanted to correct the impression given.

The German server, while quite humorous, sounds abysmal

And it doesn't sound like UbiSoft is going to be much help ... best of luck all you who moved (either transfered or started over), it sounds like you need it.
