Would be interesting to see some tradeskill expendables.

    For example:

Guaranteed Success, cost 5 AAs, expendable, but at the cost of your success, you have no chance for a skill up. Or something like that.

With regards to us learning other cultural armor, I think the Rogue Epic 1.5 should be looked at. The story line to obtain the dagger is to travel to the different cities that have a rogues' guild, and learn their crafting secrets. For the Vah Shir, we had to prepare a feast for the king (farming, high baking), for humans and half-elves it was a poison sampler packet, dark elves had a necromatic enchantment, etc. Each city required a different set of tasks (each potentionally long and based on a tradeskill itself).

How does this relate? I believe something like that should require work as well as AAs. It is a major accomplishment, and we would have to be trusted to learn the other races' cultural secrets. The end result could grant us a book that let's us purchase the AAs (Cross Cultural Mastery for example). This would work similiar to the gnomes' tinkering mastery books.

If possible, have the AA be restricted to what race you learned it from. This should be possible within one AA line (Trials of Muramite Proving Grounds), where each success will grant 1 level of ability (when you have the AAs to use the book).

These are some ideas, with some already in game examples on where the code may be inspired from.

The no chance of skill up doesn't really hurt people who are 300 though. Also, I don't know if I would want to see someone with 0 skill use this aa to make a 350+ type combine. I know the cultural armor are skill locked but there are other combines they could still complete.

          Fair point.

Maybe make it skill restricted. Can only use it if you're at 300. As a benefit for getting to 300. Or maybe it unlocks with an Enron like quest or something. Obviously, the skill up part would be eliminated if you were 300.

Using an expendable though, would help with the concern that someone could keep reusing the AA (thus making the AA overpowered and potentially unbalancing.)

I agree that either expendable or a very long reuse timer would be needed. Perhaps unlocks at 250 as not everyone has an easy time getting every skill to 300. However, someone who is at max aa could reasonably have 5-6 or 10 even no fail combines in a row if only expendable. (Assuming a cost of 3-5aa for an expendable)

While I like the idea of gaining the ability to craft another race's armor, I do have to admit it goes completely against the lore.
Anyone remember what the converstations go like with the quest giver to get the books?

"Psst, hey buddy. Over here. I need to talk to you."
"Keep it down, will ya. I don't want that scum sucking {insert other race} to overhear us."
"This is just between us {insert plural of your race}. We can't let the lesser beings that crawled out of the slime in on the secret of OUR ancestors."
