Anyone tried to smith or tailor any of the new armors yet?

The lvl 14 tailoring and smithing book can be found in POK (on tinker book vendor incorrectly). There is scribe button, but it only appears to scribe the template recipies, not the armor recipies. The new templates use vanadium ore and i was able to make some vanadium templates.

However, without finding any armor recipies (I seem to recall stalwart weapons we had to figure out recipe also).

All the old cultural recipies appear to be gone from cultural smithing container. No more Elegant or Elaborate Snowborn armor , for example.

However, the method of making the armors appears to be the same. Now the last tier, elegant snowborn wristband for example, used this:

    Mold for Barbarian Wristguards,
    Northman Smithy Hammer,
    Water Flask
    Tantalum Plate Bracer Template,
    Bituminous Coal,
    Ossified Northman Ore,
    Porous Loam,

The first 3 should be the same for all armor, and the last 4 will change.
TO make the new armor, I used Vanadium Plate Bracer Template in above list. That leaves me with replacing the Coal, Ore , and Loam.

For the Ore, there are 2 new with higher value on cultural vendor:
    Indurate Northman Ore
    Refractory Northman Ore

    For the Loam, choices are:
    Porous Loam
    Spongy Loam

For coal, I do not find a new coal available. The only coal above Bituminous is:
    Brimstone

    So with the
    Mold for Barbarian Wristguards,
    Northman Smithy Hammer,
    Water Flask
    Vanadium Plate Bracer Template,

I tried every combination of the following 3 items:
    Bitiminous Coal vs Brimstone Coal
    Porous Loam vs Spongy Loam
    Indurate vs Refractory northman ore.

But all combinations did not combine. Am I mistaken about the 7 item types in armor combine? Or is it possible there is a new coal type needed that is not yet on hometown vendors?

    Thx.

it is "steely" ore of some sort depending on your race. Apparently it isn't in the game yet though.

The armor recipes are there, they are on the Cultural Discoveries guy up by the library. The loam is Spongy and the coal is brimstone.

The ore required is indeed "Steely X" (in my case X is adamantite) but I've not been able to find it anywhere.

The augs also require new item that I havent been able to find either: Cosgrove Powder.

Apparently I left this off of vendors I mistakenly thought it was handled with the Fine Weapons, but of course now realize that this is incorrect.

I will get it in ASAP but I do not know exactly when that will be.

I see the scrolls for the new armor now...they were mixed in with list of symbol scrolls and I had overlooked them on first pass thru the vendor.

I have also checked multiple vendors in hometown and elsewhere and cannot find the steely ores. Hopefully it is in by next patch.

Here is stats on new armor & symbol for comparison. The slots are differnt so the old sublime/elegant augs cannot be used in the new Stalwart armor:

          Stalwart Snowborn Cuirass:
Rec lvl 79, Req lvl 75
          AC 171, HP 460, End 475
          Purity 25
          Stats (5-13) + (1-3) heroic
          Resists (5-18)
          SLOTS: 7, 16, 17, 15 (Emblem).

Venerable Chest Symbol of the Warmonger:
Slot 16, Rec lvl 79, Req lvl 75.
          AC 16, HP 435, Mana 420, End 380,
Purity 25 (new..old armor did not have purity)
          Stats (15-16) + (2-3) heroic
          Resists (14-17)

          So combined armor + Symbol = 196 AC, 895 HP, 855 End, Purity 50
Most stats +(3 to 6) Heroic

So with symbol and a decent ac+hp aug, armor will be +200 ac, +1000 hp, and have another slot 17 open for whatever (I read something about a focus effect symbol), + whaever stats you add with purity power source + emblem stats.

This armor does appear to be a significant upgrade over tthe old cultural, even when the old cultural contained type-12 raid augs with the big AC bump.

              Steely & Cosgrove

NGreth, in addition to adding the missing Steely xxxxx ore to game, please also confirm Cosgrove Powder is in-game.

I also have not yet seen any Cosgrove powder on any NPC vendors, nor on bazaar traders in case it is a dropped item.
Will need this to make soloist symbols to add focus effects to armor.

Now I have seen some cosgrove purity augs in game, like Faintly Pulsating Crystallized Cosgrove Shard...is it possible that we can break those down into cosgrove powder using acid or something?

                  Info from other threads:

Cosgrove Powder is mob drop + foraged.

For now, it's in the forage tables, but not on mob drop tables yet. It'll be put in later.

End result is Attunable. So tradable.

If you scribe the book called "Seals of the Soloist" from one of the TS merchants outside the library in PoK, you get the recipes. These recipes show all tradable components *except* for Cosgrove Soloist Water which I am unable to find any info on yet (Lucy does not have record of this item atm).

                        So to clarify...

I'm a little confused. I understood there were going to be group symbols and raid symbols, and a slot for each in the new cultural. On Allah those Venerable symbols are listed as Attunable, meaning we can trade them. It also says all slots, so likely the information is flawed. But then we also have the group symbols (no stats, just focus). Are groupers getting ~450 HME armor with all group symbols in place, or ~1000 HME armor?

I mean if I have a pile of plat as big as Ngreth, and assuming all drops are in place and people were actually making them, could I go in and buy the armor/aug listed above, plus the focus group aug, and walk out with a 900 HME BP? That just seems like a pretty huge upgrade compared to what's available in the bazaar to a level 75 player right now (not that I mind).

TS armor/weapon always seem to be unbelievable upgrades at the beginning of an expansion. In a few months, when people have ploughed through half of the content in the expansion, it won't look so amazing anymore.

Happens with every expansion that has a TS armor/weapon line. This is because with TS items, you get to see what you get the first day the expansion opens. While with mob drops, you won't get a clear picture until a few weeks later.

Too many unwanted disputes have been caused by this discrepancy in "vision". Sometimes, I wish the TS armor/weapon recipes are not put in when the expansion opens, but instead, be implemented say three months after the expansion opens (similar to how Defiant Armor and Guk/BB armor were introduced mid-expansion). This would have saved alot of arguements and we may have been able to keep some of the original stats of the past TS armor lines.

Cultural armor comes in 3 pieces.

Armor = this is the base armor crafted only by members of your race.

Symbol = this is crafted by any tradeskiller and is purely stat enhancements to bring the armor + symbol up to the desired (by the devs) level that crafted armor stats should have.

Seal = this is the additional piece to potentially add a focus effect to the armor. Seals in UF come in 2 kinds, group and raid. Group seals appear to be just purity and a focus, no stats, crafted with pottery skill. Raid seals require a raid drop (naturally) and provide stats and more powerful focus effects, to bring the armor + symbol + raid seal combination up to raid gear level as desired (by the devs).

                              Hi all

Haven't been able to find the recipe book yet, maybe it is flagged and only appear if you have purchased UF (I haven't yet but will be very soon). I got the seals book with the recipes though.

Does anyone know if making the symbols and/or seals requires a task/quest thing like the sublimes etc? Or are they ready to go should you have all the ingredients?

                              Thanks in advance
