  • Question about trivials (yeah i've been gone a while from EQ)

Trying to remember ........ brain is foggy

Anyway. 300 is the max raw skill

Aside from skill mods, crafting mastery and salvage........ that's pretty much it then?

Was browsing the "quick trivials" stuff, and saw this and that some are at over 400 trivial

If I have maxed trophy, 300 base, and CM3..... that's pretty much all I can do ya?

well, I find holding my mouth just ... so... helps

(aka, nothing else I know of).

lol oki i'll try that mouth trick

what confused me was this (from the TradeSkill guide)

was wondering why they bothered listing something with a 426 trivial in a "grind guide". I guess maybe b/c it's handy if you can't find the other things

      ..22 - Tin Ore - Crude (1g4c)
      ..42 - Iron - Natural (4g4s6c)
      ..67 - Silvril - Sulfurous (1p1g2c)
      ..92 - Thalium - Brown (2p4g1s4c)
      127 - Iridium - Nitrous (5p3s9c)
      160 - Fulginate - Dull Black (12p9g1s4c)
      198 - Rubicite - Brown Nitrous (18p1g6s4c)
      236 - Indium - Dark Brown (23p4g1s4c)
      274 - Rhenium - Black Nitrous (32p6g2c)
      312 - Tungsten - Lustrous Black (49p6g6s4c)
      350 - Cobalt - Toluene (65p4g1s4c)
      388 - Titanium - Anthracite (99p5g3s9c)
      426 - Tantalum - Bituminous (131p3s9c)

The amount of scucessful combine required to evolve the final level of the trophy varies by the trivial of the combines. If I recall correctly, it needs to be over 350 trivial to minimize the amount of combines. Also, the higher trivial items are often in more demand than the lower trivial ones. This is my guess for why they are included in the guides, along with ease in obtaining. Of the list you posted, the last two items drops much more frequently in the current expansion.

ah ty that makes more sense now. I remember something about needing >350 trivial for trophy evolution

I feel kinda dizzy trying to

a.) remember the stuff I forgot
b.) "catch up" on what's in vogue these days

But prospects for success are not as bleak as you may think even with those really high trivials.

Using the Calculator found on the left side of the home page here, you will see probability of success on a trivial of 420 +/- is over 80 percent. This example is assuming you have skill of 300, trophy at 12 percent and all three AA to enhance your success.

You only need a trivial above 301 (any non trivial). As previously noted, anything greater than 350 counts as 350 and is the fastest way to level, as they give more "experience" than one of 301 trivial, but the difference is only around 15%.

The real answer is, what items can you get effeciently and/or cost effectively.
