  • Earning Money....?

I left EQ about two years ago and my main (gnome) is 250+ in all available trade skills to him (tinkering included). But it has been awhile and I am not sure what to make to provide myself with income anymore. I used to make the AAAA's because they always provided very nice income, but those are no longer cared about because of far easier and way better gear options available now.

I noticed the Golden AAAA pretty early and thought it would do for a nice easy substitution for moneymaking. In fact, the components were selling a lot cheaper in the baz and people were selling them in baz at higher prices than I normally sold them for. Though its been weeks and I've consistently had the lowest price (by like 25kpp) and its not sold. I'm assuming they are also worthless now?

Anyway, I need a way to make money, doesn't necessarily need to be tinkering, as I said, I'm 250+ in all available trade skills to my gnome, but its been so long, I don't know where the demand is anymore. Can someone guide me in the right direction? I appreciate it.

I find slow but ongoing demand for arrows. Suggesting the acrylia series and any higher.

You may have luck with the Opal version of AAAA. Make one and see if it goes.

Something high end brewing and baking, the items with nice stats... for small income

Be alert to general chat and /ooc in bazaar.

Opal? Okay, might try that. Can I get links to the aug's that the new AAAA's are for, I haven't been able to track down any links for them.

I'll also try some arrows and such tonight. The only other things that I saw in /ooc and /general were the compartment stuff, might look into those I guess as well.

Expendible goods move fast on FV. Food and drink of any kind, poisons, potions, arrows, etc. Won't get rich overnight, but it adds up pretty fast. Collapsable bags are hard to find and a godsend to any tradeskiller. If your server has a market channel and you're keeping your prices fair and reasonable, might have better luck there than in general.

Collapsible Containers, definitely meant to make more of those. Have a lot of coiled springs saved up because of the AAAA's and iirc those were the most annoying//expensive thing to get for them.

I could use some more drinks for my brewing trophy anyway. So my plan is definitely gonna be some arrows//drinks//food//collapsibles, and I'll see where things pick up from there. Thanks for the suggestions.

Powersources move fairly well also. On my server there are quite a few people making and selling the top level powersources, so you won't be seeing 400% profit or anything like that, but they do sell.

Yea Powersources are good but expensive to make and have ubar high trivals.I succeed only about 40% of the time makeing the Pure ones.
You also might try gnomish escape rockets, the robot illusion clickys, floatation packs etc.
I haven't had much luck selling AOAA's since elagant defiant armor cut into that market pretty serious.
I have the best income from beer battered timeless hunter sausages and timeless drinks alto the drinks need lots of farming.
              Hope this helps

Wait for the new cultural cycle next expansion at best if you're expecting huge returns, it's mostly easier to capitalize on items early in the cycle than this late. I tend it to view the tradeskills cycles like this:

New tradeskill item released->people with skill makes cash->things slow down->new expansion releases nothing major->components and materials cheaper ("recession," buyers market best to skill up during this portion)->cycle renews.

Of course there are always items in demand, but opportunity costs dependant upon your tastes.
