    Hey there.

I was gone 4+ years (I had stuff to do, all right? And now that my sock drawer is nearly under control...), but now I'm back. And I'm slowly but surely finding my way through tradeskills again. Love the revamps. Research is doable (finally), tailoring is fun again, beautiful, beautiful.

But, I've been searching for over a week in the Bazaar (which is nearly as dead as EC Tunnel, it seems), and I've yet to be able to find Baking geerloks. It's driving me insane. Does anyone know where there are "contact a tradeskiller" boards? Because short of skilling a tinkerer up myself (which I plan to do, but great googly moogly, not at the moment!), there's no way I can get my hands on one... they don't drop and no merchant sells them (obviously).

Clearly, they need a third mercenary type: tradesman. =) (Half joking there. But just half...)

A good part of the problem is that Geerloks are no longer in regular use, outside of those using them as part of a skill up path.

A few years ago Tradeskill trophy quests were added to the game, which start out inferiour to a Geerlok, but with use evolve into a considerably better modifier.

For Baking, the quests are found at http://www.eqtraders.com/articles/ar...r=120058000000 . Depending on your current skill level, you will get a quest that you can do, although it may take some farming of components to complete.

The trophy quests are most certainly worth the effort.

Wait, so do the mods not stack then? Ah! That would explain much.

      I feel very silly. =)

Correct, the mods do not stack. The server automatically uses the best (equipped) bonus if you have more than one item with a modifier.

In some skills, at the lower levels, some players choose to use both the quested trophy and a Geerlok. The higher modification of the Geerlok prevails while the trophy continues to gain power.

However, for baking, likely you will not need to be bothered with the extra item (Geerlok) since the baking components generally are common and cheap. Thus it does not matter if you fail a few more combines.

I do have a suggestion regarding obtaining crafted items, especially something like Geerloks. In bazaar, look for any Geerlok, or any tinkered item. Send a tell and an in-gaime email to the merchant inquiring about the item you want. Perhaps behind that merchant is the tinker you need.

            Good advice

I stocked geerloks until the newer trophies came out. I had to tribute my remaining stock. I've sold a few of the multifunctional geerloks, but they weren't worth the work.

I seldom read in-game mail, but all my traders use tell windows, so a tell to my trader is likely to get you what you need. If you are lucky enough to be on Antonius Bayle, tell Stur any item you'd like tradeskilled.
