Unlearnable Smithing Recipe?

What can you do with a recipe that can't be learned?

Recently, I have been working my alt Enchanter up through tradeskills on the slow road to 2100. As a Karana worshipper I decided to work thru the deity specific Fletching. I have encountered an annoying issue.

When making Blessed Steel Arrowheads for the Blessed Guardian Arrow combine, you need to use Imbued Plains Pebble Shards.

These shards are made by combining an Imbued Plains Pebble with a File in a forge (trivial 96).

The recipe does not show up in the searchable forge window. The combine works fine in the experiment version of the forge but you don't learn the recipe upon success so you can't add it to your recipes. I've duplicated the issue in PoK, the Guild Hall and North Qeynos. All the other combines and sub-combines work normally.

I put in a bug report but many weeks and many patches ago but the recipe is still unavailable.

Is this somehow working as intended? If not is there a better place than /bug to comment on recipe omissions?

I would guess it's working as intended. I asked a similar question about some Shar Vahl quest recipes for pottery and fletching, and that's what Ngreth said. Not sure if that's the case here, but I wouldn't be surprised.

it is working as intended. all original quest recipes are like this. Just because they are used as a skillup path doesnt change their intended use.

Do Steel Guardian Arrows instead.

No frustrating plains pebble farming, and the same trivial.

Better still, the recipe for the steel arrowheads is memorized just fine. ;D

Yup. the intention is for a quest, [most] quest combines do not get "learned"
