What would be an appropriate tip if all the no-drop items are supplied? Just want to get ball park figures (reward the TSer for their time/effort, but also be in a "fair" range).

Wow. I've been getting 20-25k per piece (10% of what I would charge for the item if I provided everything.) I'm at 345, level 3 on both Salvage and TM. Maybe I should ask for higher?Originally posted by Elyssanda View PostI made a full set of elegant armor, customer supplied everything but my patterns, and he "tipped" me 100k per piece. My modified skill was 345 (300 + 15% modifier) with level 2 salvage and level 2 tailoring mastery

I didn't ask for anything. That was just what he gave me.Originally posted by Twistagain View PostWow. I've been getting 20-25k per piece (10% of what I would charge for the item if I provided everything.) I'm at 345, level 3 on both Salvage and TM. Maybe I should ask for higher?

I've always clicked combine free of charge to whoever asks but I dont advertise my services and I dont answer "need GM smith/tailor/whatever" calls in /ooc.
If you arent asking for anything then why generate a consensus on an "appropriate" value for the service? Its all relative.Roanne LeFaye

I will usually charge about 15k and I supply everything but the Loam/Fluid/Marrow. If I fail i charge nothing even the for the parts I lost on my own.
That's just me and I have a decent amount of plat without charging much. i would think 20k-25k to be reasonable.Master Artisan Lemamas Half`Elven of Povar

I'm also in the 20-25k range per piece.
Did do 40k awhile back when the stuff was new - and loam going for 250-300k a pop (so you know folks getting multiple pieces made had plat). But not for awhile.Garshok

I won't take any plat from a guild member, but I do make people bring me the things I need for the combine. "I don't do tradeskills," shouldn't translate into, "I can't read a data base and find npcs in zones."
If outside the guild, its been so long I forgot! I never charge for failures.Eggborn Hatchedrotten

345 tailoring/smithing + max AAs & salvage - but I don't get tipped. Rather I pay them in mythical filaments, ossified adamanite, water of X dieties, tantalum ores silks pelts from bazaar....
Typically running around between 6 zones gathering components, costing me ~2k per piece attempt, and when I fail, I buy them another porous loam / exquisite spinneret.
So far I'm 16/18.
Total cost to me: 255k (includes one porous loam and one spinner)
Total tips: 0.
Time spent on these: ~15 hrs
But I've seen worse - my LAST guild officership would ask the guild members to donate their porous loams etc..... I gave away my three porous loams only to see links of their new shiny elegant / sublime cultural gear
