  • I'm back, and I have no idea how much stuff costs.

I'm one of the many players returning to the game this summer, and I find myself with bags of things I was trying to sell before I left, tons of newly foraged/looted stuff (mostly silks and things), and equipment that I'm sure is sub-par. I want to do some buying and selling, but I have absolutely no clue what things go for anymore, or what the economy is even like. I neither want to overcharge nor be ripped off myself.

I remember a site called eqprices.com from the old days, but it appears to no longer exist. Is there anything similar to that, where I can get a grasp on reasonable costs for things?

Thanks from a returning player who feels like a newbie all over again.

I think the prices and the supply/demand vary from server to server, so your best bet would be to go to bazaar and use the bazaar window to check the going prices of items. If you see prices you think are too low, just price yours a little above them and wait a few days to see if it changes.

Some items have really dropped on our server. The going price for a porous loam used to be 350K. Now it is lucky to reach 110K. If you have desired items that no one else offers, then you can price them however you think is fair. If people dont want to pay it, or they've found a cheaper substitute, you wont sell anything. But its probably unlikely you are the only one in the bazaar with good tradeskill items, so you should be able to see pretty fast what the price range is and adjust yours accordingly.

    Good luck.

Best is probably to check prices in your servers bazaar for a few days before trying to sell anything, especially if you've been gone for a few years.

Some things that were expensive are cheap not, and vice-versa. Some items that used to sell pretty well (leather padding, for example) aren't so hot now as Ngreth has added new skill-up paths. And servers vary.

Sorry can't be more specific than that.

        There is a website
        http://www.eqprofits.com
that does track bazaar prices based on servers.... I don't know how accurate it is, been a couple years since its inception and I haven't looked at it much in a while.

You might check out www.eqecon.com. They have a complete list of items for sale in the bazaar by server for a fee. For free you can see the average price across all servers. At least gives you a starting place for prices.
