  • trophy question

I picked up a trophy quest but never got around to finishing it, & I've since moved up into the next skill bracket. Would I have to pick up a new quest to get a current trophy, or would the old quest provide the same result once I combined the certificate?

I am unsure on this, but would suggest going ahead and finishing the original task and see what you get. Chances are you'll get the trophy for the level that you were when you got the quest.

If this is the case it won't take long for it to catch up with you. Give it a shot.

The certificate you would get would be behind. The trophy will get accelerated EXP, but you may still want to drop the task and get the next.

Just another comment, with the exception of the Tier 1, when you complete the task you get a certificate as well as the trophy. When you equip the trophy (in Primary or Secondary as instructed) and combine the certificate in the appropriate container type, the trophy will automatically evolve to the appropriate skill level. If your raw skill is already to the next tier, the trophy will evolve to 99.9+% into the level that you completed the trophy for, such that the next successful combine that would give you trophy experience, will evolve your trophy to the next level.

Meaning, if you get the Tier 2 (100-149) task and your raw skill reaches 150+ (Tier 3) before you combine the certificate, the trophy will evolve to Tier 2 (Apprentice) and will be evolved to and show 99%. Your next successful, non-trival combine within 100 of your skill level (and if your skill is 250, any non-trivial combine no matter what level), your trophy will evolve to Tier 3 (Freshman).

          Upgrading trophies

Unless you have advanced multiple tiers, or have no plans to continue to advance, I would just finish the quest you have and let the trophy catch up to you.

When the trophy is behind, it evolves very fast. The higher tier quests are more difficult and often painful to find rare drops.

              This is not bad.

It simply means you have to do the Expert Trophy Quest or wait until you reach 300 and do the Master Trophy Quest.

The parts may be a bit harder to find than the simple purely vendor sold ones, but it is not too hard. You will need to make the old style Tailoring trophy though with an Artisan's Seal, which if you have never made one before, it summons a 100% wt red 10 slot giant bag that you can get in addition to the ones from the new tradeskill trophies.

Phew. I was concerned that it was going to require massive PITA drops !!
