  • Erudite Cleric GM ?

Being the proud owner of 8th shawl and having most of my skills 160+ (as you can see from my sig) i have come to think about GMing one of them.... but which?

tailoring seems attractive because of the cultural tailoring but tailoring requires heavy farming of greens which a cleric isnt good at!

smithing is also on my mind for the fact that im a plate wearing class and could gain some benefit from the new planar molds.

if anyone has a good suggestion as to what the other tradeskills offer me (besides the obvious) plz reply thx

    This is a common misconception...

The only greens you need to farm for tailoring are the lvl 1 mules in bazaar .

Seriously, hopper hides are fun to hunt and will give exp even at very high levels, and you can buy the acrylia in bazaar, or hunt high level Tribes for it.

There are a lot of other pelts that drop off of higher mobs as well. If you have passed 160, you don't need silk unless you skill up on solstice robes.

You can GM tailoring without farming greens for 1 minute .

I GM'd in pottery, back when the Solstice earring was all the rage. Except for one or two of the new PoP items, the pottery market has hit the floor...and then tunneled into the basement...at least on Povar. I think people are making more money farming/selling the actual components than the potters make actually selling the finished products (8k per metallic liquid  )

Personally, unless you have a good source of components, I would advise people not to take up pottery these days.

Amethysst is level 65, and tribals and hoppers are green. So are pretty much every tailoring drop mob, bar the PoP post-250 skill up mobs (and ice burrowers).

Personally, in terms of GMing, I'd look at JC. Clerics, I believe, get PoP imbues and with your smithing you can enchant the metal pretty easily. The downside is that you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a 250 JC.

It'd be fun to make the steelsilk armour, though I don't expect there's a huge market for it. I consider smithing a pretty much dead end (and the farming requirements are no drop unless you have a slave of tunare).

        Pottery is pretty brutal.

The only other thing I'd suggest looking at is brewing. The temper components are somewhat in demand, and require the services of a 220 brewer. I know it's not the sexiest tradeskill, but there it is. Although you'd be the OTHER erudite cleric brewer if you did it :P
