I do not think they got passwords anyway, It was widespread enough that I think it was a vulnerability in vbulletin.

Yepyep, my best guess is that they found a way to fire off the automated amin mail feature without really getting access to much else (hence why it was a nastygram, not all sorts of mucked up stuff on the forums).

I'm still grumpy about it, mind you, but it could have been something much worse than it was.

I obviously do not check my email as often as I like, and logged in to do that today. Got the email (this is the second account I have on the boards since I cannot recall password of the first ). Anyway, didn't click the link...just came straight here for verification, so have no idea what the link goes to. The clue that it was fake was the name calling. I have not played EQ in about 3 months, but in it's own weird way, the email did get me here to see everyone else that posted.

Good luck, Denmother, solving any issues that have come from this. You must be frustrated beyond belief.
