  • Exalted/Sublime quest and multiple TS

As a "practical" tradeskiller, I never got my dwarf's tailoring up above 250s, since all I really needed it for was Qvic combines. Along comes SoF and quests, so like a good smith, I run through the Exalted TS quest, and get the Sublime quest - but, unsurprisingly, even though I finished the Exalted quest long ago, I cannot make Exalted symbols from tailoring drops. I should get Berrew's tailoring to 300 soon, but my concern is this:

    1) Will I have to redo the Exalted quest?
    2) If so, should I abandon my Sublime quest now, since I am about 1/4 done, and start it again once I get to 300, or is it the skill level upon completion that matters, vice its level when obtaining the quest?

Think of it as two separate, unrelated parts.

Part 1 is the quest -- this gives you the materials (patterns) to make the augs.

Part 2 is the skill -- this allows you to the actual combine.

You have the quest/materials part done, but that doesn't affect the skills part. You don't have to redo the exalted or sublime quests. The patterns you already have will work. You just need to get the skill so that you will be allowed to do the combine.

Whew!! That was what I was hoping was the case. But the message that I get when I attempt a combine left me in a little doubt. Glad to hear that I am not going to have to redo those camps

          Visit the NPC

Visit the NPC just outside of the POK library just south of the door. There are 4 there, and they sell various recipies you'll have to buy so you can do the combines more successfully. I have no way to confirm this, but since I purchased the recipies, I have not failed as much - maybe it was just dumb luck. But I've heard if you dont get them for the symbols, you wont succeed.

For the exalted and sublime augments as well as the elegant armor, you CANNOT experiment to make them. You must purchase the recipe books from the merchants you mentioned. That is the only way. Also, there is no effect on success rate by purchasing the recipe book.

              elegant armor books

Do you need to be at 300 smithing to get the newly discovered recipes from the new vendor in POK?

im at 299 and he won't let me buy it.

Must have 300 for the elegant armor yes. Unmodified.
