  • Cultural charm recipes

Why are there single yield cultural charm recipes for only certain class/race combinations?

As it stands, if I want to make a charm for my dark elf rogue, I have to get 3 times the rare drops that I'd have to get for a dwarven rogue.
Can't you just make 1, 2, and 3 yield recipes for each race/class combination?

Or better yet, just make 1-yield recipes that can take either loam, marrow, or spinneret fluid.

think it was to do with which race it is... for instance if your race employs classes with silk, leather, and plate/chain... it will require all 3 rares.... if you are say a barbarian, you can do plate/chain or leather so you only need marrow and loam.

when you said your dark elf rogue needed all 3... check again, DRK is drakkin, DEF is dark elf. DRK requires all 3, DEF only needs 2

dwarves can only be plate/chain classes so they only need loam

dark elves can only be plate/chain and silk classes so they only need loam and fluid

drakkin can be all 3 so need all 3

    hope that helps

That's the craziest logic I've ever heard.

Why should I be forced to make 2 or 3 charms in a combine when I only need one? These recipes stand out unique out of all TS recipes in that some do not offer a 1-yield result.

By that rationale, the tradeskill augments should force the maker to build 2 or 3 at a time as well. And maybe extend that to ANY cultural item. Need a cultural weapon? Sorry, you have to make 3 because you're a drakkin and they can't count to 1 or 2.

If this truly is the reasoning, then someone really needs to get their head checked.

found this in another thread by Ngreth... hope it hasnt fell off the back of his desk

I am considering splitting it so all classes only need 1 of the three. No ETA at all though because we need to resolve the overall cultural issue first.

It was something that was half done when I first started on EQ. I also thought it did not make sense but at the time I was new and just did what I was told...

Look for news on this in the patch wednesday.
