  • Tradeskill Patch Notes (fictional)

    For tomorrow’s patch:

    1. The new SoF jewelry has been revamped. The augments no longer have recommended levels, but instead, the mounts have required levels. The required levels are substantially lower than the prior augment levels, for example the mounts now range from level 5 for silver mounts to level 65 for dwerium mounts.
    2. Pear and Round Cut Taaffeite no longer have identical stats. Bazaar NPC Caerlyna will now exchange Pear Cut Taaffeite for Round Cut Taaffeite and vice versa.
    3. Items and augments with a recommended level are now evaluated separately. So, for example, an item’s stats will not be lowered by an augment with a recommended level above the user’s current level. For items with multiple augments, the recommended level on one augment will not affect the stats of the remaining augments.
    4. The new SoF jewelry solvents are now available on bazaar merchant Sylisa Cogsworthy.
    5. After a careful evaluation it was discovered that tradeskill trophies and skill mod items have no effect. It was already known that there was no effect on trivial combines, but as many suspected, there was also no effect on non-trivial combines. In the future, skill mod items will improve the odds of a successful combine on both trivial and non-trivial combines.
    6. The Tradeskill Mastery AAs have been refunded. Instead are new AAs that allow 1, 2 or 3 guaranteed successful combines in each 24 hour period.
    7. We wish to congratulate Maddoc on his promotion to Customer Support and thank him for his years of service to the tradeskill community.

Ok, how long did it take you to figure out I made this all up.

Uh, number one was the give away, since you got the levels wrong.
Silver and Electrum no rec level
      Gold level 20
      Platinum level 35
      Velium level 50
      Palladium level 60
      Dwerium level 70

This was announced about 2 weeks ago and as far as I know is going in tomorrow.

        Required Level

I knew they were considering a required level on mounts, didn't know they had made a decision. Are they removing the recommended level on the augments (say yes please)?

Actually, it's recommended levels on the mounts with a steep curve similar to the one on the gems now. Yes, the rec levels are coming off of the gems. The stats are changing slightly on the gems as well. Most are minor tweaks, but there are a few bigger changes. The nihilites, which are currently 375 hp, mana, or endurance, will only give 350 to a stat. The Opals and Emeralds, which are currently 100 hp and 100 mana, will be changed to give 150 to their stat. The percentage gains for the different metals is a little bit different as well. Silver is 12%(same), Electrum is 20%(same), Gold is 30%(was 28%), Platinum is 40%(same), Velium is 60%(was 56%), Palladium is 80%(was 76%), Dwerium is 100%(same).
A level one character with Electrum/Crimson Nihilite/Peridot/Opal will be able to wear a 4 ac/100 hp piece of jewelry. At level 20 in Gold they will get 6 ac/150 hp. At level 35 in Platinum, they can have 8 ac/ 200hp. Wearing Velium at level 50 will give 12 ac/300 hp. Upgrading to Palladium at level 60 results in a 16 ac/400 hp piece. And full stats in Dwerium at 70 will be 20 ac/500 hp. The way the recommended level curve on the metals is set, each metal becomes better than the previous metal 5 levels below its recommended level. For example, at level 44 Platinum is still better than Velium, but at level 45 or higher Velium is better. The recommended levels are slightly lower on the Solos(5 lower) and Duos(2 lower), so if you are willing to give up a stat slot or two, you can get better stats from your primary gem faster.

Thanks Bobaten for explaining the changes. I would expect there to be little demand for Staurolite and Prestidigitase, and sales of Harmonagate to be limited to those who can't afford Taaffeite.

Any chance the augments will have their stats displayed assuming a 100% mount?

As far as I know they are still working on that. There is also some talk of adding a type 7 slot to the mounts.

That would be a quite wonderful bonus addition to these items. But would it be too much of a benifit to the non-raiders? I don't think so myself, but I thought cultural was fine the way it was also... and that is a pretty devastating subject still :/

Slot 7 will likely be another recipe at some future point.
