  • Skill cap - Necromancer.

    Greetings!
I just can't remember if I already asked about this, so, I will ask again
I'm a Necromancer, and my Intelligence is capped at 250.
Now, can I increase like Wisdom over 250 and use it for for Tradeskills?
Or since I'm INT based I will use INT always (well, I believe that in Smithing I can use STR if higher than INT).
So, basically, I need to know if I can raise anything besides INT and use it for increasing on Tradeskills faster

It will use the highest of int, wis, or secondary skill (smithing = str, fletching/poison = dex). It doesn't matter what your class is. However, if you can increase your wisdom cap, why can't you increase your int cap (which would be more beneficial to you as a Necro)?

As a necro, your gear is more likely to favor int and that will just from your natural efforts in game, be your higher of the 2 stats (might be the same with caps limiting you).

Twistagain, let me finish my threads before you answer me! Hehehe, that's a quick response! Thanks.
Well, how can I increase my INT? It's capped at 255, no matter what I wear, nothing will raise it (I guess with the SoF it can, if I'm 75+). Do you know if I can raise WIS above 255? Even if it's only for TSs?

Thanks also to Aldier for quick response

The int/wis will have the same cap unless you use AAs to raise those caps. Being a necro, you would use the Int-raising (or both-raising) AAs instead, as the Int is more beneficial to you than the Wis. Right now, you'd be capped at 255 on Int and Wis.

            What level is your character?

As your character progresses, your stats will increase. I think 255 is the cap until 50 or maybe that is the cap at 60/65. Stats went up with TSS and SoF and I believe OoW when level caps went up.

There are several AA abilities that you can get to increase your stat cap. Planar Power and Innate Enlightenment (think are the ones necros get). I have had the aa's for so long, I don't know what the base stat cap is at each level.

Ah. Not being a pure caster, I thought there were also archetype AAs to raise the cap of either int/wis...maybe not. Those might be your only options. Planar Power raises all of your caps by 5(?) per rank...and I think Innate Enlightenment does the same for your Int/Wis only.

Planar Power is 5 to all stats across the board and open to everyone as you increase in levels.

Innate Enlightenment is a PoP era archetype aa for casters/priests that is 10int/wis per level for 5 levels.

                  Aaaaaaaah!! AAs!!
                  Had no idea!!
I'm 53, with a couple of AA available.
I only read about AAs able to raise base stats, wich sucks, hehehe.
If I can raise my Cap, that would be great!
I have all but SoF expansion so far. Don't really need it at my level, will have to wait some time to buy it.
Thing is, I read a post, someone saying his STR was 300+, so I thought I could trick WIS to 300+ with Jewerly or gear.
But yes, even without the Festive Doll, my INT is capped.
Will have to look for those AAs you are talking about.

Thanks again, and please keep making this the best TS forum!

                  Best regards.

More levels will also increase your stat caps as well. Probably the easiest way to raise them.

I believe there are also tribute abilities that will raise your stat cap, but I'm not sure of the level requirement or cost-effectiveness of those.

My artisan is has stats capped at 300 (lvl 65, plus some ranks of planar power), and whenever I did a run of combines, I used the tribute ability to raise my INT cap. At 65, you can raise the cap by 8 points, and its less than a hundred points per 10 mins. It might not be worth it for people without much tribute, but if you have access to elemental planes or want to spend some time in /barter, PoP Elemental bows are 40k tribute per.
Woot!! Master Artisan as of 1-19-08

There is. It's called Innate Enlightenment. Raises the cap by 10 for WIS/INT per rank. It's caster/priest only.
