Unfortunately, not a single one of the LDoN type3 augments can be put on a charm item, so the 10 charms in SoF with type3 slots have absolutely nothing you can place in that slot.

Any speculation what the type 3 augs will be like? Vendored, mob dropped, or tradeskilled? I'm also not sure what stats they'll have. If they have focus effects, they might clash with the focus effects on the armor they fit in, I think an item can only have one focus effect.

Actually, an armor/aug combination can have more than one focus effect or effect. Runed Diamond in a piece of armor with another focus effect works just fine.

What cannot happen is clickies. SOE would not be able to put a triggered effect on an aug. What would happen if you had an aug with a damage shield clicky and put it into the Eron's Jewelry, then clicked it?

Nobody wears an item with a type 3 slot and has the BiC aug before SoF.

They could have made a slot 17, not included BiC in it, and then made all old type 3 augs that they wanted in slot 17 to include it.

This would be messy and wasteful.

Instead, they changed the handful of type 3 augs that nobody had in a type 3 slot to not include a type 3 slot and that didn't fit the purpose of a type 3 slot, then added type 3 items to the game.

Wouldn't it be nice if they were crafted focus effect augs? Especially if they required high end pottery skill to make a "Ceramic Aug of Mana Pres" or some such. You could then give Pottery a very valuable use, and these augs could be removed and upgraded as the new expansions dictate.

Also spell research could be involved as a subcombine similar to the way the AAAA/AGAA uses a research subcombine to set the focus effect from the mechanotablets. (Not saying an AAAA/AGAA should be required to make the focus slot 3 crafted augs)

My guess is that these type-3 augs may be similar to what we had with DoN vendors in lavastorm. You cold buy augs with focus effects (mana preservation, dot/buff duration, range, etc) and these would be good for spells up to lvl 80 (just as DON augs were good to 70 which was max level at the time), but the power of the focus would be less than the power on equivalent raid focus (and perhaps SOE coudl also introduce corresponding type-3 raid augs).

Or perhaps they will be like the flowstones in OOW that tradeskillers could add focus effects to, with the appropriate rare drops like discordant scoriae.

Anyway, thats just my guess until SOE leaks details on exactly what they'll do...you did request speculation

I hope they add in something that lets you make them into an item desirable for raiders, otherwise I'm not sure why they'd have the type 3 slots on raid gear.

I hope they have mods like Dodge +8%, Parry +8%, Alteration +8% etc., those are very hard to find on modern gear.

The type 3 augs were not ready for the patch this week. They are supposed to come out with the next patch.
