  • Elgant armor combines (price per)

In the past i use to take anywhere from 2 to 5k for donations for clicks unless the item was not worth much then i would do it for free. Sometimes if i were in a good mood I would let a person I did not know tip if they wanted or leave me nothing

However I am at a loss what I should charge for non guildies nom friends on elegant tailoring/smithing combines. As of right now i have not seen a single piece of elegant duskwood/dreadguard/nightfall for sale.

The loams/spin/marrows have been going for around 300k on my server. I have no intention on buying them and selling them. Too much finacial risk imho.

What are others charging per combine?

It all depends on how nice you feel... and if you think you'll get more business later because of your work.

I was given 50k for making BP & Greaves for a guy. He brought all the supplies and sat through me failing a couple of times on the Tantalum combines. We're both glad I succeeded on both the Elegant combines though.

if you dont know what its worth just charge one additional set of ingredients per succesful combine.

its relativly fair since the price for the rare component determines the price for the final product.
with all the work fails and stuff around double price the rare component and you get a fair bazaar price and this is what you charge.

Not sure if this will help or hurt or confuse you more but here's my story and situation (since we're on the same server).

I was the first or second GM dwarf on Morell Thule to be making the GM armor/augs. And the first on Erollisi Marr when we merged.

But if someone handed me the items for elaborate armor or eminent symbols I NEVER required payment.

Currently for exalted and elegant, I am still not requiring payment either if someone hands me the expensive items.

I haven't finished the sublime quest but given those are selling for 600-1 million plat plus, I fear I'll be ripped off tremendously by those who 'stockpiled' these items if I offer to do it for free. I just am stuck myself on what I should charge; though given it's a couple of weeks before I finish this quest, I am going to wait until I'm closer to finishing to see where the market stands to make that determination.

But I have heard asking for an extra of one of the combine drops is what a lot of tradeskillers have done. (Given the pricing we're seeing in the bazaar on Erollisi Marr though, asking for a copy of both seems a bit too high currently).

I had no clue what to charge either. These are the first combines where my throphy and mastery AAs make a real difference in the succesrate.
Loams are currently 200-300K and the elegant pieces are 500-1000K on my server atm. I've bought a couple of loams and made a few pieces to sell which I priced at double component costs. (which I consider very reasonable since I can't even create the human or high elven versions for that amount).

I've had several requests for combines so far. I just ask if they can bring me 1 extra loam/fluid/marrow as donation for a few succesfull elegant pieces.
Have created 1 piece for pp so far, agreed on 100K for a succes. (I have all my mastery and salvage AAs + maxxed throphy).
For the human and high elven versions my succes rate is much lower so I'd charge less per succes for those.

I prefer spare components as donation, but if people want to donate in pp, I usually expect a donation of 10-20% of the product's bazaar value if I succeed a combine and failures are always free. But that's just how I do things. (I used to go with "donate whatever you consider fair on a succes" in the past, but after a few 100pp donations for old style elaborate/eminent combines.... I'm never doing that again lol)

That's what I used to do back in the BD armor days. If they wanted a piece of armor, I'd say "bring me enough to make 2 combine attempts. If I'm successful on the 1st try, I keep the rest of the components as my fee."

one of my guildmates is asking 140k if people bring him the rare drops,

              or

400K / trade for tantalum ore/porous loam if they bring nothing.

I've been doing it one of three ways. First and most obvious, they can buy a finished piece from me at a set price, which depends on the cost of components that day. (It varies wildly from day to day, so it depends on how cheap/expensive the parts are.)

Second, they can bring me two sets of components. I combine the first. If it succeeds, I keep the second. If it fails, I try again with the second set. No cash needed.

Third, they bring one set of components. If it succeeds, I charge 60K (roughly half the cost of the rare bit). Fails are free.

The cost for Elegant armor (and the sublime symbols which use same ingredients) is heavily dependant upon the cost of Porous Loam, Exquisite Marror, and Equisite Spinneret Fluid.

On maelin server a week ago, all three above drops were going for around 100k sellers and competing buyers offerign 70-100k. It seems more have completed the sublime quest now and prices have skyrocketed due to competition. Sellers have priced the 3 key ingredients above at 300k each, and buyers are offering up to 210k now per loam and 170k for each of the 2 exquisite items.

However, while the competition has raise prices of ingredients, it has prevented inflation of the price finished items are sold for due to a large increase in the number of sellers... Sublime augs are selling for around 400k, and exquisite armors for around 325k....about the same as last week. Elegant armors are goign for less than the sublime augs since many buyers who can only afford one or the other are opting to put sublime augs into elaborate armor and holding off on buying the elegant armor.

For buyers who cannot afford the full price, the sellers often give 2 other options (provide ingredients + 75k/100k fee with risk to buyer), or provide multiple loam/spinner/marrow with the spare ingredients covering costs & failures.

Since max skill + 12/15% trophy + max AA trade + max salvage usualy results in about a 70-75% success on combines, I have been lenient in what I charge for combines and even covering losses...until yesteday when I had 8 consecutive fails on a sublime aug...not sure if RNG got stuck or what..but that was more fails than I had had in probably the 30 previous combines over prior week...

I have yet to see more than 1 single Sublime aug for sale. 500k-600k prices.
Mostly I see people spamming "WTB Sublime Augs!"

I'm not yet able to make Sublime's but am intending to do the "bring me a 2nd set of components" thing. I'm 18 reavers (and 1 impression) away from making some, and have 40 sets of components gtg... can't wait!

On Erollisi Marr right now, elegant moonglade cuirass is being auctioned for 750k. (2 other BP's at the same price)
                        - Greaves has a 999,999 price tag.

Having the loam be for the elegant AND a way for sublime is completely messing up costs on things.

Exalted augs are going from 45k-120k atm (most in the 40k, 60, or 75k range depending which vendor is on that happens to have 20+ of them in stock). So prices are fluctating very very widely still.

Porous loam is being sold for 500k
Exquisite spinneret fluid is priced ato 280-400k
                        Exquisite marrow at 350k

No sublime augs yet but they're still 900k+ when you hear about them.

I'm cheap, I pretty much will only do combines for people I don't know if they meet me with every ingredient and then I'll do it for free. This is mainly becasue I'm still not 300 with my smithing (the only tradeskill I like) and want people to keep bringing me combines without have to farm. I don't really want to play in the bazaar and speculate much so for the most part I don't get more than one or two requests a month. If I every get to 300 with a max trophy that is likely to change at some point.

                            On Quellious

On the Quellious server we have a couple people that advertise regularly to make augs. Exalted are selling stright out for 45k. Sublime augs are selling for 400k per if the maker provides the materials and they are charging 150k for a successful combine if you bring the materials for the augs. If they burn them you are out materials they used but not plat. They are also accepting materials in place of cash.
