Wow that was hard -- Sublime Aug Quest

    Personally, I have found this Sublime quest is very frustrating. I understand the desire to make the effort you go through to be able to make these items on par with their incredible stats, but meh, this quest on top of the slim drop rate of the rarer components (Loam, Marrow, Fluid) on top of the high trivial and probable fail rate are enough to make you batty.

    Ive finished the Steam Factory part thanks to several really good friends (yah, we found two groups with two pullers worked well in SF) but the reavers in Fortress are testing my patience. Two nights of solid killing, four reavers...well five if you count the one that another group came and pulled away for themselves. On my server its a crowded zone so even getting a camp spot where they spawn is hard. Im not suggesting that the quest be changed to hand it to us, but I seriously believe that anyone less than a hardcore, very well geared player (with lots of crazy friends) will not get this pita done in any reasonable time frame.

    I am still 77 atm and I feel I will probably ding 80 working on this thing. Lol

    P.s. If anyone can recommend a few other good camp spots where these spawn, it would be appreciated. Currently sticking to the Zepplin (aka the Death Trap) and the gnomes in front of the center elevators.

      To be honest, overall the items are flowing into EQ at a fairly good rate. I had 28 porous loam and 60+ Tantalum Ore after the expansion had been alive 5 days. Now that the cat is out of the bag so to speak, less people are selling them and stocking for personal use, which makes the supply seem smaller by a large margin.

      The best advice I can give you is to stick with it. FM was rather good exp for us to 79 and if you can keep killing fast, you can keep all four spawns clumps locked down. As people max out level and move on to AA'ing, you will probably see less people in mechanotus other than tradeskillers/factioners.

        You don't need to fight in the blimp to get reavers. They spawn off any non robot gnome and there's other places in FM for those. Possibly a little longer I don't know but in about 7 hours, I had 27 reavers and made almost 4 yellow into 78 so it's not a bad camp to do. It may seem long but eventually you get it even killing a few everytime. Then you're done.

          How hard could it be, i did the hole thing alone 6 boxing in 6 days. my tank had cultural with exalted symbols and last bloods, other than that his gear is from anguish.

          Ok so I may be a bit of a maniac, as nobody else on FV server has completed the quest yet.

          There is an easier way to deal with the foundry workers if you have a bard. Camp in one of the halls leading to the foundry. Invis the group. Pull a big train from the room into the hall and fade. Mez a worker or ph and fade again. Wait for the adds to leave. Simple. I only had 1 death from getting a wrench to the head and not standing fast enough to avoid the train.

            Just finished mine today, about 32 hours (over the course of 3 days) to complete the Reavers, keeping 4 - 5 PHs (and friends) dead every spawn cycle and was down to 39/5 on that last spawn... woulda heard me scream, followed by uncontrollable sobbing, all the way in California had it not been 40/6 on that last kill.... that aside, that was just a horrid experience... a totally mind numbing grind, there would be hours without a single "a reaver" on tracking

            2nd part, not so bad, getting the stuff split up so I could do some steady killing was a bit rough, a few wipes in the beginning and then one when I had but 4 kills left to do. Oh, and to add to the fun, Foundry Master SomethingOrAnother spawned early on for us, VERY red and had to avoid aggroing him too Took about 7 hours, w/recovery time from 4ish wipes, but much more enjoyable than the Reavers!!

            Oh, and my whole crew was not in anything better than Ally Katta gear...

              I can confirm -- I've not done the exalted and got the subliem quest, did it, and I've made symbols for people.
              (I did the same on the old GM vs. master symbols-- I did the Gm quest w/o doing the master)

                We were able to do these quests mostly single grouped with demi/CoA geared folks. It just takes time for the mobs to pop or for them in the steam factory to be split. It was great xp, but lots of time and work. So far we have three sublime symbol book owners, with three more on the way in our guild.

                  Semi Intended.

                  They do not have the same zone number... so they cannot match. If we get a code change that will allow me to include multiple zones, I will consider adding the instance, but for now it is base zone only.

                    Went up to the blimp with 2 groups of Anguished geared players (1 enchanter). Died repeatedly, never got a single reaver kill.

                    We moved out to the courtyard area by elevators. Much more our speed.

                      My experience in the blimp is that the people choose the wrong place to try and set up their camp or they lack the the gear/skill to control the multiple pulls you have to expect.

                      Having a good puller and a good enchanter can go a long way in these tight quarters.

                        You really dont need raid gear or a raid to complete these tasks. You can camp reavers at the elevator to the top, then with a good puller, or CC, or both, the camp is rather easy, its just very long and boreing.

                        As for steamfactory, mobs hit kinda hard, but nothing see's invis. This makes its so easy to get to the camp outside the room you want, then with a puller, or CC, or better yet both, its really not as bad as people make it out to be. A solid single group geared group could do it, i am not saying it would be easy, but very very doable. Nice part about steamfactory is you can get it all done in a hour, or 2 at the max, so you dont have to keep a cookie cutter group together long, like you would in fort, since that camp takes 4evah.

                        When i did the camps, it seemed they were way to hard, and should fixed. But now looking back at how much plat i have made, and the upgardes i have gave away, i think the camps are accually to easy. If they really wanted to make it a challenge they would move some of the needed kills into mansion, since pulling/killing in mansion is a total pita. The augs are very good, and require alot of effort, but its not like you do all this just to make 1 item, liek most quests, with this quest u can make 10 x 20 of each slot and double that of bracers.

                            Andy, where in SteamFactory is the room in question, and what do you mean by "hit kinda hard"? I know members of one of my orgs have been hunting for a place to do this quest.
