What happened to me was I made the jewelry with velium and platinum and the auged them with the fire emerald and also the perdot and opal, for a few but also the ruby and the perdot and emerald. had 5 or 6 items all together in the delux sewing kit then put it into the shared bank slot. Then logged to my alt and the shared bank slot was empty both slots. I had thought that was weird maybe my alt was bugged logged back to my main and my entire bank was wiped clean all bags and all items for every slow gone.
I have petitioned for the return of the items back before the bug which I had not known about, which also happened before this last patching. when Sunday rolls around it will have been a week since I had it happen and the petition I sent in.

      Mount x 1 + Gems x 3 = 4 items per ring
      5 rings = 20 items
      6 rings = 24 items

Shared bank has a maximum of 20 slots

I've always wondered if that is why some players encountered the bug while others didn't. My suspicion is whether you exceed that 20 slot (or 20 items) limit.

Looks like something our favorite ogre can try to test when he's done feasting on roasted gnomes

Something i've noticed that the trio veil has the slots in a differant order than the other pieces. The type 11 slot is on top which means if you put the type 10 gems in first since they are round cut the first one will go in the type 11 slot. And when you try to put the type 11 gem in the combine button will be greyed out.So you have to make sure you always put the type 11 gem in first. One other piece has the type 11 aug slot on the bottom but I forget which piece it is atm.

Whenever I make a JC piece for a friend or sell one to a customer, I always explicitly tell them, put the type 11 gem in first! (Of course, I tell them the gem by name.) I emphasize that the piece can get screwed up if they do it in the wrong order.

Ngreth got all artsy on us
The aug slot order for the different pieces is supposed to represent the way you would set gems in real jewelry. So the pendant and earrings have 2 small gems with a large gem hanging below, the bracelet and ring have a large gem with small gems on either side, and the veil has a large gem with 2 small gems hanging below(though the icon doesn't match this arrangement).
