no more spell research on Combine?

Since the old system is out, and the new system requires runic hides which drop in TSS, does that mean researching on Combine is not possible at all now? I may be missing something obvious, so if I am, my apologies.

The "paper/parchemnt/hides/etc" should drop everywhere now.

What is missing though is probably a merchant (unless Depths is open already)

well after a full day of killing level 55+ mobs I didn't see any paper/parchment/hide drops whatsoever. There are none in the bazaar either, other than the ones that were already dropping before the patch.

You are certain that the droppables are now globally dropped and can come from any mob in the game according to level/tier? I have read just about every thread concerning this and it's still about as clear as mud. Especially to someone such as myself that has just only been researching for a couple months.

It should be from any caster mob of the approriate level, not just any mob.

ok that clarifies it, thanks. One more question, what are the levels that they start dropping? Because I am killing lots of casters down at the bottom of Droga, all 53-57, and haven't yet seen a drop. If the drop rate is this low, then being able to skill up researching is going to take forever, especially compared to the drop rates they have in smithing and tailoring after their recent revamps.

And it does seem they are dropping because the bazaar this morning compared to last night is beginning to get stocked on parchments.
