I started the frehsman trophy quest but didnt complete it. Ended up getting on a TS kick with the new recipes and got smithing to 300 and then finished trophy which was only ended up being evolved to 99% of level 3. If i were to destroy this trophy can i get the quest again for level 300? I rather not have to do that many 300+ trivial combines to work on maxxing it out.

If you're 4 levels above, might as well just add like 100 to how many it would take to go from master to GM trophy. The master trophy quest requires a ton of tedious combines, including making the old trophy. Since you'd still end up having to do a ton of combines to take that master trophy to GM level, it'd be much less work to just do combines to level it. The trophy exp gained per combined increases a ton for each tier you are above it. But yes, it is possible to destroy it and redo task at master levelWoot!! Master Artisan as of 1-19-08

As an interesting note, trophies gain exp at an insanely accelerated rate when your skill is above the trophy's tier. At 300 skilll, you "should" have a level 6 trophy. Since you have a level 3, each combine you do will earn your trophy 31x the normal experience. When your trophy reaches level 4, you will get 21x the normal experience, and when it reaches level 5, you will get 11x the normal experience for each combine.Sir KyrosKrane Sylvanblade

The answer is yes you can (and have to destroy te old one, before you can get a new one).Originally posted by Axeramm View PostIf i were to destroy this trophy can i get the quest again for level 300?
I think the point that some people are trying to make, is that sometimes it is easier to just level up the trohpy, than having to spend the time and resources making the new trophy. In your case, I would probably make the exception, destroy it and start the quest again.

Actually, it isn't really necessary to destroy the item to get a new quest - on my Tinkerer, as I approached 285 tinkering with the Expert trophy at a woefully low level, I decided to get the Expert quest so I could "short-cut" the process as per Axeramm.
I "offered" the current trophy to Ms. Diggs (clicked it on her, so it appears in the NPC trade slot), then hailed her and asked for "Tinkering", which got me the Expert Tinker Test task. I then cancelled the trade. (In the event, I didn't bother going through with that, and just evolved the Expert trophy from 77% up mostly with Sunshard Ore bracer combines and a full set of Elaborate Metalofiber - but I guess I would not have needed to destroy the old trophy till I was about to hand the Certificate to the Co-ordinator).

Thats a neat workaround to having to destroy it, but I can see quite a bit of frustration if someone does that, and forgets to destroy the old before handing in the final items. My guess is the old would stay, and they wouldn't get a new one. Stabbing of monitor would result.Woot!! Master Artisan as of 1-19-08

exploit!
(Yes it is, but I don't really care... though I have done some work on trying to get rid of that exploit for Caerlenya
(and no it gets you nothing but logged off as a cheater if you manage to get two no trade items from Caerlenya))
Another exploit is to leave it on a corpse of yours, and go talk to the NPC.

Please keep careful notes on the % increase and the number of successful combines. We know that smithing trophy was supposed to be decreased, so some careful note-taking on raw data now can be compared and posted to let people know what to expect.Originally posted by Axeramm View PostI have done some tungsten and cobalt combines using the level 4 trophy. i managed to get 10% per attempt added at level 4 and currently getting 1% per attempt at level 5. 110 attempts isnt bad i suppose to get it up to level 6

For whatever it is worth, I have some data on the level 4/7 trophy (I'm finally increasing the smithing on my tinker bot for templates, maybe max his tinkering someday).
At 200 skill and a 4/7 trophy, and doing Enchanted Velium Bits (trivial 222)(excluding the first percentage point, which only need 4 successes I think because it had some overflow from the previous combine) it ran 7 successes per % from 1% to 5%. It ran 6 successes per % from 6% to 10%.
More to follow, I ran out of parts there, which was the end of 250 combines I had for skilling up (I started at 178).
More to follow as I continue the run to 222.
P.S. The shared EXP for level 50-60 toons (grouped with my level 75 ranger) in Velkator's Labyrinth (now a hot zone) while I have been farming the Velium has been great.
