  • Non-Visible Template Combine Question

From what I have read, the Belt, Cloak, Gorget, Mask and Neck template combine options in the new Smithing/Tailoring are for skill up purposes only.

Has this been confirmed as the only purpose? It seems odd that they would go to the trouble of creating additional recipes without a use/purpose for the result.

Is there maybe a plan to add the non-visible slots to the DoN(Post-DoN now) Cultural Armors? If so, will they include a slot 12 and will the usable slot locations for the Chronal/Bazu/Last Blood augs be increased to allow them to fit in non-visible armor slots?

At the moment, only the visible slot templates have a use. Ngreth has said that in the future, he might consider adding the non-visible slots, but it's not a plan for sure, and it wouldn't be in the near future even if he did decide to do it. The other questions are moot for now, until he decides whether to do anything with the templates.

The other thing about the templates for non-visible slots are lower end armor sets (banded, fine steel) etc that had those slots could potentially be merged over to the new template system similar to how spell research is being merged to the new system. If that does happen, then templates would be needed for those slots for the lower tiers. However, it has been a long time since a set of armor included non-visible sets that were tradeskilled.
