Right now each of the trophies has it own specific progression rate based on how difficult it is to come up with supplies. In particular, some tradeskills that have a vendor-only path to 300+ have been set to require approximately 1200 combines to progress from level 6 to level 7.
However, with recent and upcoming tradeskill changes, these vendor-only paths are going away, specifically both mistletoe cutting sickles for smithing and gem-studded chains for jewelcrafting will become much lower trivials than before. At the same time, the new cultural combines have made the drops needed for high-level tailoring skill-ups much more common that they were -- to the point where tailoring and smithing are about equally easy.
The question this raises is whether the progression rates will be adjusted to reflect this. If there is no adjustment, there will be a serious imbalance in how hard it is to max the smithing and jewelcrafting trophies and maybe others as well. If there is an adjustment, it is the kind of change that we should hear about ahead of time, particularly if it includes making tailoring progression slower
Unfortunately, if I understand the current trophy progression system, each successful combine earns a certain amount of xp based on the players skill and the difficulty (trivial) of the combine then requires a certain number of xp to reach the next level and displays the progress as a % value. If this is the case there may be no easy way to adjust the xp given by each combine without affecting the progression rate up to the level 6 trophy on the one hand, or adjust the total xp needed to reach level 7 without causing someone currently at say level 6 plus 50% to suddenly have a higher or lower % value.
Anyway, just a topic for consideration. Thanks.
