  • Beginner Tailoring trophy quest - problem

Ok, so I have a new gnome enchanter that I am working on to allow for trade skilling in Tinkering and Researching.

Unfortunately, the higher end stuff takes higher level tradeskills in everything else. So, I figured I'll get my other trophies while my skills are low, allowing me an easier time to get the trophies and work them up.

    On to the problem..

Beginner tailoring trophy quest - 1 item you need is a Leather Gorget (as the trivial lists are down) which according to Alla's requires a raw-hide gorget and fish oil.

    FISH OIL!!

Again, according to Alla's, Fish Oil is created from water and fish eggs [gotten from fish in PoStorms (min level required for entery is 55) or PoWater].

Am I missing something or did someone at SOE think it would be funny to have a BEGINNER quest require drops in zones requiring higher levels?

I pray.. that I missed a much simpler recipe to alllow me to finish this quest.

I think Alla's is a little misleading in this case.

Fish Oil can be brewed from Fish Eggs and Water. Fish Eggs come from Thunder Salmon, found in the Karanas, Nektulos, Jaggedpine, etc. That's probably the version used for the Leather Gorget.

Ah.. I see nothing on alla's hinting at the Thunder Salmon beig anywhere but PoStorms.

      Thanks.

It doesn't HAVE to be Thunder Salmon, but that's the most common of the 3 types of Salmon that can be used to get the eggs (to get the oil to make the gorget ).

That's what you get for using Alla's instead of EQTraders for your recipe information.

Well when EQTC's main site was down, there was not a whole lot he could do about that.

              Fish Oil

I will have to add to that grumble... when I started playing some new alts on Test... I managed to get the Gorget - but I still have yet to get the skill in fishing (135) to make the oil.

It is so much nicer on Cazic where I have several toons with 200 Fishing and the difficulty of getting the oil is considerably reduced.

I want to thank you folks for atleast responding. I realise that I am a beginner trade skiller by comparison to most all of you, but then again, thats why I can see a few of the simple frustrating things I think.

Anyway.. My Gnome Chanter is now the proud owner of 9 tradeskill trophies and now I get the "joy" of leveling them up.

I just want to thank you for jogging my memory on something that's been bugging me. I happened to mention in a conversation with someone that I had skilled up my fishing and fished for salmon in EK. They asked me what for. I couldn't remember. Fish Oil? they suggested. Yeah, fish oil I said. What did you use it for? I couldn't remember. Tormentor Stir Fry? Nope, wasn't that. I searched my memory and couldn't for the life of me remember what it was.

I did a search here for recipes, but none of the leather stuff rang a bell.

                  Thanks for clearing that up.
