I know the old recipes for the armor and symbols no longer work, but did the rest of them go away as well (swatches, bars, sheets, etc.)?

Coarse spider silk swatch and nightmare spider silk recipes were in my cultural kit but the metalofiber swatch recipes were gone.
I know it does not speak directly to your question, however, if you have any unused bars/swatches they can be handed in to Caerlyna (bag to token NPC in bazaar) and you will get the equivalent raw material for the new drops.Squeaky Toy300 Smithing 7/7 - 300 Tailoring 7/7 - 300 Jewelcraft 7/7 - 300 Tinkering 7/7 - 300 Pottery 7/7 - 300 Research 7/7 - 300 Baking 7/7 - 300 Brewing 7/7 - 300 Fletching 7/7The Meanest Tradeskiller on Cazic Thule

Nightmare arachnid silk still has uses for PoP planar armors.
The coarse spider silk to coarse silk swatch recipe was probably an oversight, albeit a minor and relatively pointless one now.
I believe, though I haven't yet confirmed, that all the old seal recipes still work (Last Blood Seal, Chronal Seal, Discordant Seal, and Bazu Seal).Sir KyrosKrane Sylvanblade

since there is an exchange set up (as per the above post) and the old items (shissar scales, metallic drake scales, yttrium, glossy drake hides, etc) still do drop, you cannot make any new cultural swatches or bars of metal - you had to use up supplies before the patch, and any leftover swatches and bars would then be traded in to Caerlyna.

you can make course silk swatches still. no reason not too be able too... just not elegant wirewood silk swatch (made up a name... probably not a real item) the putting of two pieces of silk together into a larger piece is still there. Making that into a cultural swatch though is gone.

The Book Bindings still combine to make patterns and such, even though those patterns seem to be useless now.
I'm not sure exactly how many other steps for old cultural symbols are still in, but the Crushed Diamond Dust doesn't seem to combine with any of the blessed waters.83/1000 High Elven Enchanter on cazic (8x300 tradeskills)

If you mean using the book bindings to make the type 11 augment patterns, those most definitely still have a use -- you still need those patterns to make augs, and any patterns you had from before will still work.
If you meant something else, I'm not sure what you meant. Could you clarify a bit?Sir KyrosKrane Sylvanblade

The book binding is also used with the Ancestral XXX Armor book that is needed for the armor patterns for tailoring armor. They are not used in templates and therefore not needed for skilling up, but they are still used.Shawlweaver Sphynx on Cazic Thule

I can confirm these still work, I made several last night (10/18/07).I believe, though I haven't yet confirmed, that all the old seal recipes still work (Last Blood Seal, Chronal Seal, Discordant Seal, and Bazu Seal).
