  • Cultural skill up bonus

There are drops that are designed for making cultural armor (Cobalt ore) and other designed only for skill-up (Tungsten ore)
Wanted to know if yes or no the 2 different type of combines had the skill up bonus ?

I believe that the template combines do not offer a skill-up bonus, but the final Culteral Armor combines do. I'll see if I can find the post by Ngreth somewhere in one of these threads, as I thought I remember reading him say that.

Oddly enough Tungsten was great for me. 70 combines got me from 299 to 300 and a friend from 295 to 300.

i had more luck on rhenium than i did with tungsten and cobalt sadly. around 70 to 80 of each.

            9 skill ups from rhenium
            2 skill ups from tungsten
            1 skill up from cobalt

i was making gauntlets mostly until cobalt and i tried some bracers there.

can anyone confirm or heard a exact skill level to be able to see/purchase eleborate books? trying to grind out as many skill ups now while its "bugged" so i can get the recipes saved. currently at 272 and i cant' buy them.

You can still do the combines, even if you can't buy the books. I made a set of GM augs for an alt yesterday, but my tailoring is only around 255. I wasn't sure of the recipe, so just experimented a bit with the storebought bits until I found the right one.
