I used Magelo to track down statue-type mobs that might drop rhenium or better. Went to Kod`Taz - found some statue-type mobs. Killed one - got a Cobalt. Whee, thought I, success at last. Kill 2 more, and the commanded guardian drops Tungsten Ore... and Excellent Silk.

Does that mean it's getting both Humanoid and Golem tables?

Having read about the golems in PoV, I spent about 75 minutes there tonight, and came up with the following drops (killing golems, spiders and the centipede things):

2 x Rhenium Ore
1 x Bonded Loam
2 x Pristine Animal Pelt
3 x Fine Animal Pelt
1 x Saturated Marrow
1 x Hemic Marrow
5 x Pristine Silk
4 x Fine Silk
1 x Fine Spinneret Fluid

(also 2 x Sunshard Ore and about 750pp in vendor trash)

This was the most total drops I've had in any session since the changes went in, and 20 drops in an hour of farming wouldn't be too bad if that really translated to 20 combines. For now, though, I think I'll probably stick to farming cash and buying supplies, with any drops I get while killing being a bonus.

i helped someone with a soleris access 4 quest the other day and i was suprised. the quarrymaster event spawns a truckload of golems. longer you take to kill him (provided you have a good tank and solid group) the more golems you can get to spawn. now this is very laggy if you have a older pc, but i must have got a stack of cobalt ore just for that 5 minute fight.

Unless Ngreth went back and changed it, the Zhisza golems are actually dropping the humanoid table. Its been a few weeks since Ive killed there, but I was getting leather and silk from them (in higher quantities) as well as ore.

i don't recall getting leather or silk from any of the golems in that mission or any other lately helping folks with katta missions in the last week. think its been changed.

Golems? Anywhere?

Did I miss some resolution to this? I have been grinding thru the possible Golems in the 60 - 65 lvl range and they either drop Nothing or are flagged as Human. I'm runing out of Ideas of what the Ellusive Golem variants might be... there are a few Severly underused zones that I have either never been to or have not ventured to in Years that i will start trying.... but this is starting to smell more and more like a RAT... and if someone says the "HOTZONE for drops ins in F'ING POF or POE I am gonna Puke Hearing!

Well, I've kind of given up on finding viable golems; while I did get decent ore drops from golems in Kod`Taz around the large western temple, the hassle of getting there and setting up rather kills it for me - it's probably quicker and easier to find some humanoids of the appropriate level (goblins, orcs, and the drakkin armies in Direwind for example).

I will keep searching for the ellusives in the lvl 60 - 65/70 range that are out there, but it is good to know both that it is not just a fluke of bad RNG, and that it will hopefully be addressed a good bit.

Thanks for all the hard work you put into this revamp, and making tradeskills usefull and doable, you don't get enough cred for what you do, and though most likely the squeeky wheel is what I respond to, know that I really do appreciate what you do, and I'm sure the community does as well.

Golems in Thundercrest drop lots of ore from Rhenium to Cobalt

I wish the gargoyles in Ruins of Illsalin dropped ore and loam, but they're not the right gargoyle models, bleh.

Thundercrest...

Can confirm Thundercrest Golems... Clay Sentinel and earthen sentinel, both lvl 60, both Only drop smith globaly, both have horrid drop rates (1 in 10/15). I can also confirm the Goblin models are tagged as humanoid, and the dirvishes as well as ALL the drake models are tagged as Nothing.

Didn't make it deep in to test any of the higher lvl mobs past the ground floor center castle.

the mission "stone tongue of ateleka(sp?)" is full of cobalt and tungsten dropping golems.
