  • Tradeskill Trophies evolving when evolution "Deactivated"?

I did a search for evolve but didn't find anything similar. I've been working on my trophies, trying to get them to level 7, but my main goal was to evolve my tailoring trophy before all others (I know it sounds illy, by Dyllwin is a tailor first and foremost). I have several trophies at 99%, just waiting for tailoring to catch up.

I decided to do a few bows tonight to make some plat. I equipped my fletching trophy and went to the Evolution tab in the UI and specifically deactivated the trophy, watching the "yes" disappear from the "Active" column. I proceeded to do a couple of combines. Looking back through the spam, I noticed that the trophy had evolved....

Does anyone know if this is intended? I assumed that since the trophy had a "yes" in the Active column, that when it was removed the trophy would no longer gain experience... I know I should be happy that my trophy is level 7, but it's a hollow victory

It could be a side effect of the hack I use to make evolving trophies work for tradeskills. I am not sure I ever tested trophies "not" evolving because for the trophies I did not really see a reason players would not want too.

All my testing was focused on... make sure it evolves.

The script just says "Give the trophy exp" and I am not sure that the script function pays attention to on or off. As it is, in the script I have no way of checking that an item is turned off.

It's great that you were able to identify a bug... but I know why no one has found that bug up until now

Why would you want tailoring to level first, to the point of NOT letting other trohpies evolve? I did do tailoring first (to grandmaster 345 modified skill), even though several others would have been easier. Not for sure why I was such a glutton for punishment.

As he stated, his first tradeskill was tailoring and he wanted that to be his first trophy to reach level 7. To that end you might think he should have just done nothing but tailoring until it was finished, but he was working on what he had.

It's a bug, but I do not think it will be a big enough concern to really warrant a lot of attention to fix. Hopefully, Ngreth and the other developers/coders will continue to focus on more pressing issues for the game.

            Yeah, what Aldier said

This is definitely not one of those "Oh, my gosh, we need to fix this" bugs, more like an "Oh, my gosh, that's strange, maybe someone else would like to know this" issue. I didn't /bug it in game because I wasn't sure it was even a true bug, and from the sounds of it it's kind of borderline, since the tradeskill trophies are a kind of hack on the system as is...

Hopefully this post will come to the attention of anyone silly enough to try what I was trying I wanted tailoring to ding first, but thought it would be cool to be able to ding them all immediately afterwards
