I have tried on several occasions to combine 5 Clockwork Pinion Gears or 5 Tiny Clockwork Shafts in Toolboxes, Deluxe Toolboxes and Collapsible Toolboxes, all unstacked. I do not get any messages about not being able to do this combine in this container at all. I have tried on 2 different accounts to do it. Only thing I have not tried is using a gnome, but according to the recipe here, I do not need to be one. Any ideas please?

They are tinkering recipes and only gnomes can perform the combines an tinkering recipes. Try the gnome.Originally posted by Crowchaser View Post

Well I tried that before I came back and saw this post. I made a gnome in the tutorial and it worked. I swore a guildy had said he made them no problem before and he is not a gnome.
To make the bundles the combine says:
To make Tiny Clockwork Shaft Bundle (No Skill: Yield 1, trivial no fail)
To do an actual tinker the combine says:
To make Scrindite's Mechanoinstruction Reader (Tinkering: Yield 1, trivial 351), (Restricted)

It may have been possible before.
A few months ago we made the containers truly assert that ONLY the appropriate class can make the combine.

Did you attempt to do them in the new Gnomish Recharge Containers? If it was one of those no fail recipes like recharging a device that everyone could do in a toolbox, it could potentially have been copied over to the new container.
Toolbox, Deluxe Toolbox, Collapsed Toolbox are now all GNOME only useable containers.Shawlweaver Sphynx on Cazic Thule

At one point, this was definately doable by a non-gnome. However, not anymore, at least in any type of tool-box.Rawckett Launcher
