I read this on soe forums, can someone confirm it's true, I have hundreds of drops saved in bank and wonder if I should use them right now

if you are the right race, and you act quickly, Cultural Armor (not symbols) is a good way to go. The recipes will go obsolete in the late August patch, but you can get all the way to 290 on 1-drop recipes, and 290->300 on 3-drop ones.

6 months I farm bazaar with my /buyer for archnid nightmare silks and CDD, and all this is gonna POOF, I don't have enough cdd at the moment, nor cash.

Can you make the swatches with your supplies? IIRC, the swatches will be exchangeable for the new swatches - its just the silks themselves that will not be able to be made into swatches once the change goes in. Will save you bank space too.

Unless of course, today's patch is the one. Then you're out of luck, but short of Nygreth coming to your house personally... he's done everything an ogre can do to get the word out about this - starting weeks and weeks ago.

my fault for not reading the boards more frequently, didn't see any of those messages til yesterday.

on a side note, I find quite strange not to say more to change recipes when you know the time / patience / efforts it takes to gather components.

but that's a past story now, time to make combines if this patch is not the one, time to cry if it is

In the end it is for the health of the skill.

Sure there is some pain involved in the surgery, but it will help much in the end.

They way it currently is can be grossly unfair to some and overly easy to others, and it came down to no great way to make it "fair" without just re-doing it. And yeah. I have been warning for a while.

about the fairness, I guess it has been discussed plenty of times, and have no idea about it appart from the fact that being a high elf following Karana, I found fletching **** easy

I dont know if its in this patch. To get the news *early* I usually run the patch then hunt the news text in my eq folder.

It didnt download anything just now when I ran the patch so not sure what is going on or if its been indicated on another site.

EDIT: I suggest you read the threads thoroughly. If it doesnt patch in changes this time to cultural, you might want to use up all the CDD you have as well. I think that is also going the way of the dodo.

Don't make swatches and save them unless for some reason you have to. He said he would TRY and make an NPC to switch, but it wouldn't be right away, it would be when he had time. Does anyone really think its a good idea to gamble on that wait?

Also note, when referring to "swatches" they don't mean combine 2 nightmare arachnid silks to make a nightmare arachnid swatch. They mean making the intricate _______ swatches from the nightmare arachnid swatches. Since you refer to CDD, I assume you intend to make symbols from the silks, there is NO symbol subcombine you can do that will transfer your materials. So use them up or sell them now.

it's sometimes uselful to whine, I went from 280 to 294 in tailoring and from 290 to 299 in smithing skilling on symbols
nothing to regret about that cultural change

Yes, I do expect there will be a transfer process set up in a timely fashion. There will be no need of it later on, so not much reason to put it on the back burner. It will be needed as the changes go live and not for too long after that. I still have a little faith in SOE
