Misty acorns

Went into Misty for the first time post-patch. And I'm wondering... was it intentional that it's now apparently impossible to get acorns from spawns on the ground now? As hard as they were to see before, I don't see any way to see them at all now with all that low scrub all over the zone.

Haven't foraged one yet either, but for now, I'll chalk that up to the RNG abusing it's power.

Turn off radial flora (Options, Display, Advanced, Radial Flora), and the "scrub" goes away.

Yeah, of course I'm aware we can turn that off. But for me to accept that as the only answer, requires me to accept a few other facts. I apologize in advance that this is going to sound critical, but there's really no other way to look at it.

In the last few months, my forager has spent a lot of time in Misty foraging & picking up acorns... mostly foraging tho. And I'm not talking a foragebot. I'm talking about him loaded on my notebook while I'm tradeskilling on another box & me hitting the forage button when it recycles. I've foraged well over 100 acorns. For those that HAVE foraged them, you realize about how much actual zone time I'm talking about here. During that entire time, there was one other person in the zone with me... twice.

So as I see it, valuable time & resources were spent to visually enhance a zone that only sees traffic for the express purpose of gathering acorns. And what was one of the things they did... covered up the acorns! But hey, no worries, we can simply turn off a good portion of that effort? What?? I can't be the only person shaking my head in disbelief, can I? I mean for 8 years, whenever my gnome goes up steps, he sees thru the risers to the geometry outside the building. During that time, I've had 4 diff video cards in that box.
But hey, Misty sure does look a whole lot better... now that I've turned a lot of it off... Now if only there was a /shownewaawindow off and a /shownewitemwindow off command eh??

Fwiw, I have forage 2 acorns since I posted the original message. So they do still forage and the forage rate seems to be about the same.

I thought showgrass was for the luclin grass, and radial flora was for the newer zone grass (not that it matters, both are set to off on my machine). I did find an acorn as I was running through the new zone btw, so they do still spawn.

I don't know how hard it might be to see the acorns with the scrubby grass turned on, because I have it turned off by default in all zones due to the lag it generates. With it off, I felt the acorns were much easier to spot than they used to be; I found two ground spawns just running around checking stuff out.

I'd like to confirm that they seem easier to see than I recall them being before the revamp, assuming you have a good strong light source. The contrast between them and the ground is better now that the ground is a darker shade of green.

But yeah, do turn off the pretty grass if you are looking for these. It really makes a difference.
