I made a personnal discovery about the TSS Tradeskill Charms.

For those who don't know the tradeskill Cherms are made from specific components found in the steppes and other TSS areas, combined with magic clay and then fashioned into a charm that will empower along with your tradeskill.

The tradeskill clay combine is reported as 262, however, my theory is that if your skill is 201 or up the combine will be no fail, while if your skill is 200 or lower it'll always fail, no matter how many times you try. that's the result I got from trying dozens of times on 3 different characters.

the second part of the charm making is pottery... All my chars have high pottery skill (196 and up) so I really can't tell if they are no fail or if I was just very lucky.

Anybody can confirm or deny my findings?

I can completely refute your "finding"... I used the smithing clay combine as part of my route to 300, and with a smithing skill (UNMOD'd) of 244 getting to 262 was a long road (about 2000 combines) with many fails along the way.

You have been lucky to get no fails with a skill above 201, but unfortunatly that's all it was - luck.

I have the same as Krrak with both smithing and tailoring. I have skills in the 235-250 range at the time and both had failures in making the charm clay.

I remember when I was making my Master Artisan charm as well and the clay combine failed the first time for me.

I failed several times making the Artisan Clay, when my pottery was below 250. I then decided to wait till my pottery was 280+ before I tried again and it still took me about 5 more tries before I made it successfully to my completed Artisan charm.

Edit: Nevermind.... Misread the post... I succeeded both tries on the Alchemy part of my charm, but failed on the pottery firing on the first try and succeeded the second time.

And I can confirm that it is **NOT** true

You have about a 5% chance to make it at 200 skill, which means you sure as heck are not likely to get it done, but it is not "Guaranteed" to fail.

Nor, as other people have indicated, it is a guaranteed success after.

Just another "it's working as expected" and seeing Ngreths post it's also working as intended.

I skilled up Research using webbings from 243 to 262. Normal failure rate.

Heh me too, I had pottery of about 199 when I made mine, I had plenty of extras so I figured what the hey. I know it's silly but I hovered my mouse over the combine button, covered my eyes and clicked combine both times, worked like a charm lol.
