Here are the current plans for the scheduling of Cultural Tradeskill Changes.

The *NEW* quests will be added in the June patch that is coming soon Again to be clear, these are NEW quests and will not an any way affect any quest that you currently have. The old quests will no longer be offered, but they will still continue to function the way they currently do. I will be making no changes, nor in the future will I make any changes in the old quests. If you do not wish to get the new quests, you will have to finish the old quests in the state that they currently exist. There is actually nothing in place to keep you from getting both, and I am fine with that, but you are not likely to be able to finish both of them in the same place.

The large changes to the cultural drops for the recipe combines, and the actual recipe changes are scheduled to go in the AUGUST patch. While I understand that this is later than I originally indicated, it is necessary to make sure it goes in as correctly and painlessly as posible. We want to be sure that QA has the proper time necessary to test all the changes after the needed code change is in place.

Patch has been moved to July 5th.

I personally think this is BS.. Its a holiday week.. I take that week off each year so that I get 5 days vacation for the cost of 4.

Now they are going to patch in the middle of it.

Guess I work my schedule so that I sleep through the patch.

I had really hoped it would have happened yesterday so that I could start the new quests and making the new gear... but, you know what they say.. hope in one hand and..

There is a compromise between waiting even longer, or patching that week. We could not justify patching last week because there were some serious code issues, and if we had patched there would have been much broken stuff.

Yet there are broken things that REALLY need fixing and the longer we leave them unfixed, the more bad press we get for leaving it unfixed.

So it seems there is again no way for us to win. We don't delay the patches on a whim just to ruin peoples vacation plans, we delay them because there are serious problems that we figure players would not want to experience.

Please clarify-- When are the old recipes, that use glossy hides, metallic drake scales, shissar scales, etc, going to be disabled? July 5th or in August?

Ah, phew. Just last night I won a frostcrypt drop that made me want to move my last blood from my wrist to my chest. I happened to have a GM Chest Augment, and a Master's Chest Armor in my bank from playing around when they first came out, but someone wanted 150K for the GM (elaborate) chest armor. Much easier for me to farm 3 MDS ina creator than pay that, but I felt up against the clock.

EDIT: I only would buy one pre-made b/c there were no scales for sale.... Again i thought I was up against the clock.

Knowing I have a month to get them is reassuring.

And I know I can make them post-August patch too, but MDS are the evil I know. The new recipe might be easy-peasy, or it might be a pain. Easier to just get it done since I know how to do the current version.

Hindsight being what it is, delaying this one a little longer would have been closer to a "win". About the only part of the patch that was right was your stuff.

The required code change is not scheduled until he last week in july, leaving me with not enough time for QA to test the changes to get in the July 25th patch... so... no, not until august.

WOOT! Thank you a couple more weeks of farming shissar scales for my tailoring. I hit 275 last night. That should give me enough time to finish tailoring off. Thank you again.

Kind of wish we had a Test Server Forum here aside from the one in the area for selling or finding tradeskillers at the bottom of the main area.

However thanks for the heads up Ngreth you and others are doing a fine job and I for one appreciate the troubles ou are going thru.

I usually do not know until after the fact. (even then I rarely even know) For whatever reason, it is not something they share with us designers. Probably because it is more used for code.
