OK, so it's nice we have this recipe for creating ice, but the ice it creates is kinda pointless since none of the ice cream recipes were changed, they still use ice of velious a completely different item. Were there plans to update the recipes as well?

I saw no reason to remove the recipes that use ice of velious, they still work, ice of velious is still the same stuff and still cold.

Ice also works There is even a book in the game that explains how you need to use it.

It's possible that no one has submitted the new recipes using ice, which is why they aren't in the database yet, I guess..

And thanks Ngreth for not disabling Ice of Velious recipes as I have about 6 stacks of it, hehe

        From http://lucy.allakhazam.com/book.html...TSTBSMakingIce:

        Small Mysteries of Ice

Ice of Velious seems to hold its chill in the most magical way, but it does have its limits. After a single use the cold will have left it. Despite these limitations, you can still make ice with it. Using an ice cream churn, one ice of velious and two flasks of water can make twenty pieces of ice that can then be used in a variety of ways, even for making ice cream. You will need two bits of this ice to replace a single ice of velious, but it will work. Although it does mean that for some recipes you may have to churn it multiple times to get the correct consistency.

Ice of velious can be improved using the skills one has learned in spell research by using a dihedral burin to etch a rune of frost, which you must also include, into the ice of velious. Fill the etchings with Ink of E'ci and use a vial of viscous mana to bind it all. You will find that using one of these with six flasks of water will generate a much larger amount of ice. Unfortunately creating this ice will still drain even this enhanced ice of velious of its cold.

Working with a gnome friend of mine, we came up with a device that will stay perpetually cold. Press an enhanced ice of velious into enchanted electrified copper, and connect a class six mana battery to the positive pole and dark matter to the anti-positive pole of the enhanced ice of velious using a bundle of superconductive wires. Fit this all in a class six battery casing before the cold starts to freeze your fingers.

Use this device with six flasks of water and you will make even more ice than with just an empowered ice of velious, and you will find that it will be perpetually cold. Be careful with the device as you can get frostbite if you hold it in your hand too long.

I just made Chocolate Ice Cream with the temporary Ice created by this - replaced 1 x Ice of Velious with 2 x Ice. Same trivial. Not quite sure what the churn multiple times thing means, unless it's the Ngreth patented multiple-fail-simulation....

there were some recipes that already took 7 slots... so you put in one ice and get a "runny" versions. Do it again with another ice and you get the normal final version.

I see... but um, why not just have one new Ice replace one Ice of Velious, given the need to conserve item numbers and space in the item databases?

As for this point, all I can say is remember he IS after all an Ogre and therefore EVIL by nature....

Ah, it was blank because I broke the URL with the extra colon. I'll fix that now.

Because "Ice of Velious" is magic.. and super-cold... the new ice is just cold.

Of course it is all silly. have you ever made ice cream? you use buckets of ice!

It was only a few extra items and I will just be careful in the future to not use too many spots in the churn.

Oh, is that what you meant - I didn't realize. Well, to me it's worth subscribing not to have to deal with all the banner advertising Heck, if there was an option to support EQtraders via a subscription or donations, and not have the google ads, I'd do that too
