  • I've been gone from EQ a long time

and starting on a new server. I was hoping y'all could tell me a few things I could sell to bankroll my tradeskill addiction. I'm on Firiona Vie and there don't seem to be many tradeskillers around. Things have changed a lot since I've been gone! I started with baking because all my friends (who are level 75) desire miraculous meals, and I know how to do that Thanks for any tips!

Ah, now your post about BBC in the Bazaar makes sense

Well... for FV, I think the best you can do is Bristlebane's Party Platters. (On 'regular' servers, for melee, Tormentor Stir Fry is about the best tradeable you can do).

This is a bit easier to do these days because the Regrua Claws for the Bucket of Crab Claws, which USED to be the bottleneck given people not being EP-flagged, now drop from regrua mobs in the Buried Sea. All the rest of the necessary drops can be gotten from zones that don't need flags (HoH unlocks by level at 62).

Well, I used to fund myself by selling leather padding, CEs, etc., but this kind of stuff doesn't seem to sell much any more. (I'm a wood elf druid, btw) So I'm clueless about lower-level combines, forages, drops, etc. I can do. I've always loved baking best so that's where I started, brewing next! Thanks for the advice

Heh, well baking is not my area of expertise. Some folks have done well making the new colored handmade backpacks and selling those in bazaar. Mainly I fund my TS addiction by fletching a few Druzzil's Composite Treant Laminated Compound Bows, and smithing the occasional piece of GM Stalwart armor. The rest of the space I try to keep filled with spells from my Wizzy who does spell research and things that I know are useful to other TS'ers; pelts, silks, treant branches.

          Funding TSs

I'm currently funding my trade skills with two things... Class X potions (alacrity, Clarity, the two healings) and reselling. I buy Nodding Blue Lillies at 25P each and sell for 40-50 sometimes more...

Or course, that was before there was an influx of people trying to buy them for 50...

So my suggestion is to do both. MTPs sell well on my server, but you never know.

          Thanks!

I have been doing pretty well selling Kaladim Constitutionals as a cheap staple. I made huge numbers on my chanter while skilling up and then many more while evolving the trophy.

No I started one for my "for fun" monk alt, and have a massive surplus of KCs already with many more to go on the way to 300 + 7/7. They are cheap and they move. I usually only put up one or two stacks a night, as most of my slots are for spells or tradeskill items, but they almost always sell.

It is a bonus that they can skill you to 300 and are relatively cheap, you just need to spend a few days sitting around farming the shrooms to get a supply up.

              Welcome to Firiona Vie!

Take what follows with a pinch of salt - I play on FV, but I'm not a serious follower of the bazaar, and I do not play on any other server, so my ideas of the differences are likely to be quite prone to error.

Lots of people I know on the server do tradeskills, but there is very much less of a market for tradeskilled gear, because of all the normally no-drop gear that is available. So there are few people seeking to make money doing tradeskills, because it is relatively difficult to do so.

I think there are also fewer forage-bots, and fewer alts in general, because of the one-character-per-account rule. This may suggest likely sources for income. I've recently paid 1000pp for sylvan oak for a corking device, for example, and this struck me as quite expensive. (Goodness knows what the 'going rate' is.)

Finally, the last time I looked into making Bristlebane's Party Platters, I found NO planar fruit in the bazaar. (I've not looked for some time, and things may have changed, of course.) So I think there would be a market of sorts for that, probably fairly slow, however.

I also suggest keeping an eye on the barter prices that people offer. You may be able to make some money vendor-diving if you know what people are buying.

Good luck, and may the peace of Quellious fill your heart and your life.
