Javelins still ammo slot?

I wouldn't discount the possibility that my memory is bad, but the last time I played, I thought that the various stat-giving javelins (runic / war / longflight) were equippable in the ammo slot, because I thought that's why I had them - just to give a stat boost in that slot.

But looking here and on alla's they only list the range slot. I know the suggestion would be to try one, but this is on test server where I have never seen one, so I would be making my own - thus would like to know before I do so.

I cannot comment on where they are equipable, but unless I've totally lost it (which is completely possible) - I don't believe you get stats from anything in the ammo slot.

Actually even though they are range you can indeed equip them in the ammo slot as I remembered. I made a few to check. However you're correct - they don't give any stats in the ammo slot, so I fooled myself for a few months by putting them there. I never bothered to check whether they were actually adding anything to stats or not.

If you put something in ammo that has a general effect like a lightstone, or a couple of summoned items, you will get that effect. That's about it as far as effects to range go.

The javelins do make good pet food, though.
