I have sent the bug onto code with some details, which is about the extent I can do with it since it is a code bug

I think KyrosKrane or Ngreth will explain this much better than me in a few days

Yeah, I'm considering one final change, then we'll have an announcement with some information that should hopefully make some of this comprehensible.

It also probably doesn't help that there's at least four different topics intertwining in this thread.
          Sir KyrosKrane Sylvanblade
Master Artisan (300 + GM Trophy in all) of Luclin (Veeshan)
Master Fisherman (200) and possibly Drunk (2xx + 20%), not sober enough to tell!

Just what is the resolution of this for the novice? Would it be to copy, pencil and paper, the long number produced? Then enter the number into a hex conversion program digit by digit? Or just enter the first 6 digits? (Copying 6 digits by pencil is not hard.) Or something else? Or, no resolution?

Just for fun, I worked with the dex code for Water Flask given in the preceeding. I copied and pasted the first 6 digets to a dex converter I found on the web. The next problem was taking that number to Lucy to find the name if the item. I could not find a way to enter item ID number to get back to the item.

There's no need to do this by hand any more - KyrosKrane coded a web handler for item links for the EQtraders site. See the article headed "Advanced Item Linking" on this page:
