Re-doing the Ancestral Book Quest, having worn out the original book, and am unable to actually find a rawhidde belt for the hand in any more. Do these still drop? I've killed about 400 orcs so far and have not seen any. Thanks.

Try Blightfire Moors I see a lot of Rawhide drop from the Gnolls.

What makes a man a man? A friend of mine once wondered. Is it his origins? The way he comes to life? I don't think so. It's the choices he makes. Not how he starts things, but how he decides to end them.John Myer~Hellboy 2004

Check the merchants in Crescent reach first... you'd be surprised what raw hide items are on them (check the smithing ones)

They can drop from a lot of different mobs in a lot of different zones. Take a look HERE for a fairly detailed list of places where they drop and mobs that sometimes drop them.

The Mucktail Gnolls in and around the caves along the southern edge of the southwest corner of Blioghtfore Moors are probably one of the better places to try. The zone has a stone in POK (Creasent Reach), the gnolls are plentiful, They're easy to kill, they respawn fairly quickly, They give good faction with several old-world faction groups, and yes, they do drop raw-hide stuff.

There are also a few named gnolls who spawn there who sometimes drop things that can be sold for a bit of plat in the Bazaar. That's a nice little bonus.

          major PITA

Yeah the raw hide belt is a hard one to get in the old world. It took my level 60 necro 30 minutes to get one to drop in SRo. I don't know how many orcs I killed but it was a lot since they re spawn in 1 minute around the lake.

            it's broken

Don't even bother with the orcs on Antonica.

I killed over 1,200 orcs in North and south ro without finding a belt.

It took under 15 minutes in Blightfire.

Very confused, what does rawhide belt have to do with human ancestral armor quest?

                Nothing...

That's why the entire DoN system is being changed because the quest didn't have any good ties with the race's lore. It was as if someone used a dart board to pick out random items for the quest.

No, my question was, what does it have to do at all with human ancestral armor quest, which uses a golden bandit tooth, a zombie skin, a lion tail and a fire beetle carapace. But I realize it now, that there is a freeport version of the quest with different parts, so that's the answer to my question =P

Do the qeynos version, its faster and easier =P
