  • New Bazaar pricing

Or "The Good, the bad, and the ugly"

In the last patch, they changed the bazaar file so that the ID# is the key for each item listed, and no longer simply the name.

The Good part is, this will fix things like spells which have the same name, but are in fact different. Before, you couldn't make a seperate cost for something like Pack Shrew (4 different versions) because they all have the same name.

The Bad part is, all of your previous prices stored in your .ini files are useless. Because they are all stored by name, they are no longer valid.

The Ugly (maybe), several people have posted some utility programs which will help translate your file to the new updated version. I have not tested any of these! So use at your own risk. However, some people have reported good results (usually not 100% of all items, but enough to make it worth trying).

If I'm the only one that reported the bug, I'd feel really bad about it, since it burned so much time for a lot of people. I wish the coders had made it try both name and id so people's existing settings would still work.
I tried combining Celestial Solvent, a Raw Rough Hide, Rough Hide Solution and a Skinning Knife. But the result was such an oxymoron, it opened a rift into another universe. I fell through into one of Nodyin's spreadsheets and was slain by a misplaced decimal.

There's still a quick way to fix your price. You need to open the bazaar files which should have the old pricing list with items names so you can quickly go through them and set the price in bazaar. A bit slow but better than sedcond guessing some TS items where you might end up losing money.

At this time I haven't heard of utility to convert name to ID # and by now it's probably moot point since most of the trader probably already finished resetting prices.

Not that big of deal. Not I got to go through my inventory and see what useless crap I still had in there that doesn't sell and get rid of it. Haha.
