Allakhazam is great for comments, but Magelo blows it away for data collection.
    Sunshard Dust (mobs level 20-35)
    Sunshard Pebble (mobs level 45-55)
    Sunshard Ore (mobs level 55-65)
It looks like level 55 mobs can drop both Ore and Pebbles, as there are mobs listed in both lists that were exactly 55.

I hunt in Chardok B extensively and the unnamed mobs there have 3 level ranges:

      Group 1: 50? - 53
      Group 2: 54 - 56
      Group 3: 57 - 61

I've seen pebbles dropped off Groups 1 and 2 only. Ore drops only from Group 3. My character (level 71) is too high to differentiate within groups except for Group 2. Sunshard drop rate seems lower since first few days of expansion.

it is because it is "Global" loot. I need a code change to effectively do anything about it.

Not really any different from killin Raster of Guk in the Train! misssion, or Vindi/Tormax in Dain 2.

Most people don't usually farm from monster missions so it's probably not worth the trouble to implement code change to leave the MM out of the global loot list.

Here's some more drops, all coming from the Skyfire Mountains zone.

Sunshard pebbles dropped from a skyfire drake (level 47-51) and an elder wyvern (level 48-52). These, by the way, /conned green and light blue to my level 64 character.

I also obtained sunshard ore from the corpse of an agitated skeleton (level 60, estimated. Tough little bugger, had the hit points and hitting power of a guardian wurm). It /conned dark blue to me, same character as above.

Just like to make an add tot he drop list from Pane of Nightmare for sunshard pebble

So far found a third one that isn't on the list Ashwith posted.

Well heres the story; was quadding virulent arachnids and other trash mobs around Zone IN of PoNight and saw a virulent arachnid had dropped one.

I will confirm this next time with a screen shot of the corpse when it drops again just to make it official unless someone else wants to spend a while grinding AA's like i am in Nightmare and get one to drop.

Most of those are listed on the links I posted up there (over 300 npcs listed for each drop).

                      The good news:
We're getting a ton of data and input here and I know it will go a long long way to helping people find where to hunt for items. I hope that people continue to post their results from hunting regardless of whether they have every single detail!

                      The bad news:
Here's my dilemma. We still only have some guesstimate ranges. And yes, those of you who use other sites (Magelo and Allakhazam's for example) will be able to look up the level ranges of mobs just like I can! But that doesn't solve the problem of really knowing*exact* level ranges. Now... I'm not saying Magelo or Allakhazam's are wrong. They like us, rely on people's submissions and certainly occasional data entry errors or simple in-game bugs will result in some anomalies. However...

                      Consider these examples:

If you use the drop information we have to date and cross-reference one of the other sites:
sabretooth tiger Warrior The Overthere 37-39

Level 39 is a much higher level than the other mobs in the table. Can it really drop of L39 mobs? Or can it just drop off some sabretooth tigers because it actually drops through L37?

                      Another example:

If you look up Sunshard Pebbles on other sites:
                      a Delve drake Warrior Tirranun's Delve 61

Level 61 sticks out like a sore thumb. Again, was this just an old level applied to a mob, or do Sunshard Pebbles really go all the way up to L61 even though the majority of mobs seem to be in the under L55 range?

                      Or:
a Creep Reaper bonedrill Shadowknight Corathus Lair 69-71
Whoa? 69-71? Shouldn't this be in the Ore category?

What I am saying is that the only way I know to narrow this down exactly is not to rely on other sites for information, but instead to rely on using con in-game when hunting. And that means not always using the L75 mega-character -- but instead using a L50ish character to hunt in Sebilis and taking notice of the color of mobs you kill while you hunt very *specifically*, e.g. con, kill, loot. Next!

Then we can narrow down *exactly* what levels drop what because you will know, my L57 warrior was hunting a white con named '_______' when it dropped a Sunshard Pebble. Then I absolutely know that the level range can be as high as L57.

                      Long story short:
I'd really love to get actual hunting experience, particularly in those 'middle of the road areas' like 35-45 or 55-60 and see if we can figure out where the overlap is for certain.

Again, I don't mean to besmirch the name of other fine fan sites. I just want to encourage people to collect additional information from in-game before we decide to commit to an exact range.

                      Cheers,
                      Ashwith

The problem I always have (and you will notice it) is I don't pay attention to names that much..
Generally because if I am farming something I am the stereotypical train-loving monk.. and pull as many as I can take without dying (and sometimes enough to one-round me for fun >_>) .. So, looting for me is generally a stack of 50 corpses or so, with /hidecorpse looted on .. I click the corpse, grab the loot, stand up .. and I never think to check names heh

Course, I have also had Dust drop in so many places it isnt funny anymore (I farm stuff in that level range ALOT) and always forget to post it until the next day im like "where was I yesterday?"

Juggs in Sebilis have always been level 57. So assuming that ores come off any level 57+ mob is a good assumption.

If the ores also drop off the reet frogs in the same area, you can lower the cut off to 55. Reets are always level 55.

Since these sunshards are in the global drop table, it's not hard to figure these out. There are mobs whose levels are known and never vary. Just use those mobs as the guideline.

Jeign hunts in Harbingers spire level 2 at her level of 58 and was on level 1 at her level of 55-56. The Ore drops off mobs that are RED to her (dk blue to 65 pally) Pebbles only dropped off mobs that were yellow/white to a 56, never ore off those mobs. Hope this helps.

Actually, the new Magelo stuff is coming directly from the item collector -- which grabs data from the game, as you loot items.

Well, the data does come from in game, but it also consolidates different levels of mobs into one entry. So if you have a mob that spawns as level 53-56, there will only be one entry, and it will show that mob as dropping both pebbles and ore. While in reality, it might be that the 53-55 mobs drop pebbles, and the 55-56 mobs drop ore.
How I came up with the level ranges I listed in my first post was by looking for the lowest and highest mobs on the lists that only spawned as one level. There are some obvious outliers on the lists though. The high level gnomeworks dropping pebbles for example. It looks like their loot table is just copied from the low level CC gnomeworks.
With over 300 mobs on each list of droppers, I think level ranges are really the most useful data. Just pick a zone with mobs of the right level, and start killing.
