Power Source stats with the armor

Using a Dull Energian Ice Orb with Tempered Energian Plate Gauntlets and a Bracer, and a Shining Energiac Shield. Orb is required level 30, and the armor is 45/50. The Orb gets a new stat listed: Power Drain. It is measured per SECOND. With the items I had worn (30 purity), it was a drain of two per second each. It modified the stats of the items as well. All told, it was:
AC: -6; STR, DEX, STA, and AGI: -3; CHA, WIS, and INT: +3
HP/END: -15 MANA: +15
Saves: Fire: -7; cold: +7; poison: +3

This time with a Murky Energeian Growth Orb, and two pieces of armor (the gauntlets and bracer from above). The Orb has a required level of 50. Once again, the power drain was 2 per second for each piece of armor. The modified stats are:
AC: -6; AGI: -2; STR: +3; STA: +6; other stats no change
HP/END: +30; MANA: no change
SAVES: no changes

Next is a Murky Energeian Decay Orb, with the two pieces of armor from above. This Orb is required 50. The drain was, once again, 2 per second for each. The modified stats were:
AC: -4; all stats: -3
HP/MANA/END: -30
Saves: Fire, Cold, and Magic: -7; disease and poison: +3; Corruption: +1

Do any of the orbs actually increase the power of these items? From what you listed, most of the items lose alot to gain a boost in other stats. What good is it to raise your resists if you can now be hit by an orc pawn?

I tried the Decay Orb from above with a weapon made from silver. Purity of 40, levels of 55/60. Drain was 3 per second, and nothing added except the stats listed above. So far, the tradeskilled orbs don't do much, and the decay orbs are worthless. The foggy orb MIGHT add procs to the weapons, but I haven't been able to make one. I wonder if the bought ones are worth it?

I'm moving the thread 'Power Source Stats with the Armor' to the general forum for further discussion since there's not much I can do with from a Data perspective. As a reminder, The Buried Sea Data forum is for database updates only and we put the raw stats of both power sources and armor in the database -- e.g. we won't put all the possible combinations into the database.

The stats on the armor will change depending on the type of power source you use as well as the purity level of the armor you are wearing. Hopefully you can discuss the possible combinations and figure out which, if any, are beneficial to you.

The stats were either 0, +/-8, or +/-16.
SVs were either 0, +/-8, or +/-24.
