  • Can anyone explain this...?

Pretty sure vendor normally don't buy foraged items and pretty sure vendor don't stock on them but when I was working on smithing on my iksar and selling the smithed junk, somehow I sold 3 different foraged items to the vendor. The vendor gave me nothing for the items and the items are listed for free.

That IS odd. Only time I saw free food and drink like that was during the halloween (and similar) events from the special NPC vendors.

And, Paalrh, what was the 1cp dupe? First I heard of it.

well certain items in pok used to sell back to vendors for 1 copper more then the vendor sold them for. so buy item for 1pp sell for 1pp 1copper.

not the most time effective dupe, but a dupe none the less.

Seems okay to me, it lets us forager-types donate unwanted stuff to others less fortunate

Funny you should bring this up, Unapuma. I've run into that sort of thing with vendors a couple of times when playing EverQuest, and I couldn't make heads or tails of it. I think the last time I encountered that was about three years ago, so it's by no means a new thing.

Now that I think about it, I can't help but wonder if this is somehow related to the rare gems dupe that seems to have subsided for now. Note: No, I am not accusing you of exploiting!

As long as the seller also get zero for it, I think it's great. I'd sell some mid-level tradeskillable foraged junk to a vendor if I could, to brighten someone's day if they found it, before I'd transfer it to my bazaar mule even to just price it at 1cp to share.

I've poked around some more on this one and I can't find any major exploitable use for it. The vendor still refuses to buy no trade items, only dropable items. And of all the random no value trash I checked, I got nothing and vendor is charging nothing for it.

The minor exploit is using the vendor as free and unsecure storeage space. Its not practical as if someone happens to find the npc and sees it, he could buy everything and you'd lose everything.

I'm going to send a PM to Ngreth more details on this once I've tried out all theories I still have yet to check out. It is defiantly a client side bug and could possibly be the source of some duping bugs other have exploited before.
