Toolbox container UI for non-tinkerers

Making lots of jars of grease and cannot make the toolbox Tradeskill UI come up. do not have tinkering skill.

am i doing something wrong or is this a no go.

You don't have the tinkering skill... you can't.

Maybe I am not clearly understanding the OP.... But anyone should be able to open a tool box. They are used to reactive items with mana batteries and this can be done by anyone. But, doing a combine with grease would not be possible.

They can be used by anyone but you can't use the UI side unless you're a gnome. Put the items in there (unstacked of course) and hit combine.

Correct. If you are not a tinker you can only use "experiment" mode.

For non-tinkers this is not a change from the way it was before when you just had a "jar" that would never open into the new UI anyway. Now tinkers have the advantage of being able to use the new UI, and non-tinkers got to take advantage of the stacking of the jars I have no problem with tinkers having an advantage with tinkering

We won't mention that it has to be that way b/c the UI doesn't have any checks to it, so non-gnomes would be able to attempt stuff

(at least, it didn't used to. Once you learned a recipe you could do it regardless. I found that after learning ethereal sheet with my geerlock, I could actually do the combine without the geerlok equipped with skill 210 via the new UI)

Of course you liked it. It was better than in my day when tradeskills only worked for rangers in Neriak.

oo i remember that...

I also remember when sheet metal didn't stack and that 5 mile walk from qeynos hills back to halas was at a crawl because of bags filled with sheet metal for banded armor.

overall, its be very nice. Not only in the improvements in the Tradeskill process but the elevation of tradeskills as a role in EQ. IMO, Jewelcrafting, and Smithing were the ONLY main tradeskills for a long time, things bounced around and suddenly the Solstice earring changed a lot. (of course back then i had a separate character for each tradeskill).
